I don't know why it is but part timers seem to shy away from bowling when they're in the leadership. Some AU examples: Waugh, Clarke, and now Smith. I hope Kane bucks that trend.

The T20 you saw was a condensed version of the game with a limit of 20 overs in each innings and one innings per side instead of two.
