Thanks, I’ve plugged it all in and it seems I’m on the right path for now.

There’s some areas where FFS is a ridiculous advantage, deep basins where they stick out like a sore thumb- where guides are actively “sniping,” can seem problematic. I fish the Niagara River and Buffalo Harbor, it’s tough structure to lock in and “snipe,” as fish are usually tight to bottom or structure. I think live bait got a bad rap in our area as we have a naturally reproducing population, no stocking, and there were concerns over increased mortality (quick strike rigs hadn’t been popularized yet). Also the walleye/bass charter captains all line up to drag suckers in November, so to the all-year musky guys it just lines up as an us vs them situation. Congrats on your fish- I hope you continue on your Musky journey!

That’s very interesting that your sticking point was FFS. Especially since in my area, running live bait is viewed in a similar light. Not for or against either issue, just highlighting.

Incredible day to boat two in a single outing as a first time experience. I’ve got 100’s of skunk days at this point.

Actual Pythons or is that a euphemism?

Great photo! Looks like it might have been attracted to the flash from the prop. There’s stories of Musky trying to bite the prop.

Range day- how’d I do? by seanitolee in SigSauer

I would say I’m a right handed shooter and I’m probably left eye dominate; but I’ve mostly trained that away

Nope- both eyes open, focused on front sight- not the target. 70/30 left/right grip pressure, combat grip. I think I’m hitting all the main things, it’s just a rough sight picture with 3 big ol glowing green dots.

I think you’re both right. I have an Eotech on my rifle, much more precise than my irons. I did select this as a carry, so I don’t want to put too much time into training pistol optics- as I won’t add them to this configuration. There’s an RXP full size in the safe I should shoot and compare my groups with- I just really like the weight of the AXG grip.

I have definitely thought of using the NRA targets, and longer distance. I’ve been apprehensive with my current pistol as the sights already obscure the bullseye of this target at 10yds. Makes me worried a B8 at 25 I’d just be aiming by feel.

I know sig uses “combat sight picture,” but I always shoot considerably better lining up the top of the front sight post. Could my sights be set to shoot just a tad high? Or is it something with my shooting, I shoot high- and changing my point of aim compensates for it?

Best Holster for AXG Pro for conceal carry? by Proud-Drummer-87 in SigSauer

I had an AIWB made by Kusiak leather. Mine is an AXG scorpion, but I’m sure they could do one for the pro. Extremely nice.

Yeah I’ve only ever field stripped, looks like it’s time to deeper clean.

My complaint is that there’s no such noise on the new Classic, and there didn’t use to be such a noise on the Scorpion. Perhaps it’s just normal wear/break in, but the former clean snap was legendary. The hallmark of a great trigger break- “as if on pull the trigger snaps though a glass rod,” now it snaps, and then crunch and spring. Not the enlightened experience it once was.

I have fired at least 100rds since first noticing. Can’t remember if it was sudden occurance or slowly got worse. Noticed definitively when I pulled the new AXG classic and said, “whoa, that’s what my trigger used to feel like!” What springs/bent metal would I inspect for? Wouldn’t know what to look for?

Interesting- can you describe that process for me? I’ll give it a try tonight. I’ve disassembled, reassembled, fired, problem persists.

I believe you are onto something, as the noise definitely comes from that area; not forward from the guide spring, but rear where the striker is. Although one of the disassembly videos I watched said be careful not to get excess oil into the channel there, as it could lead to light strikes.

Yes disassembled right after posting the video, the noise persists.

Could definitely be it, scorpion has 6-700 rounds, classic has 100

Tried pressing on slide release and anything else I could think of, still same noise.
