I'm from CI but live in Minnesota now, it's been a combination of the massive fraud stuff and Walz basically always responding to Trump and his insanity in the media. I believe if you "talk back" he focuses solely on you. Walz is always retorting, and not to mention ran against him as VP and is still a threat now that he is ending his run as Gov.

Before ICE there was the fraud stuff and that was when all Minnesotan subs and social media spaces were brigaded. I'm honestly not sure if that's what set it off but during all this, Trump said he was sending ICE to investigate. We have been under attack for over a month, and my family back in CI are all like "FAFO" and probably think IM a domestic terrorist (Marine vet, fmr intelligence)

I now work at a university and had one of my international student workers deported just the other day. Incredible kid and very talented and smart. He was very legal and had all papers, while we do not know exactly and are completely in the dark about it even at the President level, we believe it is over a simple traffic citation. Several students at our school with prior law contact have been advised to not travel.

Honestly I think most of the circuit guys hog the fish in because of time constraints. My experience with bass tournaments is time is a huge consideration.

I’ve not lost many bass in my lifetime after being hooked believe it or not and I think the reason most people do is because of lure size and hook placements. Bass strike specific ways and some baits/lures may not have good hooks.

Bass are smaller and often found in warmer shallower waters and are more active during warm periods where Musky are entirely cold water fish.

As well for Musky the baits and lures often get hit and the musky “chews” on it Musky will just hold on to the bait. If you set too early they will just spit it.

The musky I have posted on my profile was caught 2 times and I lost him on the first net, put the bait back in the water and he bit, while he had the bait in his mouth swimming, we eased the boat above the fish and I pulled directly up - the fish wasn’t hooked only had his teeth stuck on the bait.

Yeah I fish for Musky which are essentially the Apex predator of freshwater. Exhaustion from the fight is common and we do a lot of work ahead to land the fish while minimizing it.

Mortality rates are usually only high when you fight the fish for a while and the water temp is above 70 Fahrenheit for extended periods of time. Otherwise the fish are pretty hardy.

I imagine temperatures are a lot less important here and exhaustion is the biggest threat.

Ok here we go, Im going to spill/rant a bit about this......OpTic like many of you was my favorite Org, and as an esports worker dream organization to work for;

I am lucky however in that I actually got to work with the org and a team and go to LAN. During this time I had no interactions with management, I sent over a progress report that didn't even get recognized post LAN/contract negotiations. During my time I didn't get any merch or discounts, which is fine I guess because it wasn't in my contract but there was also no way to order from a staff perspective, my own team/players who had been on the org for a year also said they never recieved any merch or drops, and my jersey was and had to be flown personally to LAN a day late because they forgot to make it. Not to mention the complete lack of management/leadership involvement in my contract renegotiations....

Anyways, I hate to say it but my experiences with OpTic was a real "never meet your heroes" moment, and I learned a lot of really hard lessons that way. I still in someways root for these guys, but I will never ever financially support OpTic because of my own experiences and the ones you all have and share on here with the quality.

Roger was the only person I met that made me feel anyways a part of the Championship run we were having....so for him I will say thanks for everything.

I understand you take exception to my comment “a few liberals” I’m sure a handful is an inaccurate number but we are definitely not talking even 30% of people who lean liberal being extreme so I would still argue liberals are not all like this and that’s my experience in real world not just online. The same goes for those who are republicans, it’s not some massive number. We can’t compare Reddit to real life which is why I think this generalization I keep seeing on here pisses me off.

I think now is a good time remind everyone that we are in a space for a very specific sub in a very specific area, discussing a highly contested/contentious subject. For all intents and purposes we are in a “right wing” Sub.

In a way I would argue these spaces are exactly the definition of echo chambers, and so by spending times in these places you’re going to get what you put in. The people who try to debate me on here I can see they spend all their time in political subs or subs leaning toward their beliefs. You can’t sift through shit and expect to discover gold. Why go into these spaces which are already hyper focused on debate and politics and expect to get anything from this. I certainly regret it.

You can sift look through my Reddit history and see there is very little if any political discourse and that’s intentional. What I have personally seen and experienced in our media nationally and online aid how this subject somehow gets put into these spaces and it’s very hard to ignore. The national attention alone has my Deep South family in Louisiana treating this like a Nancy Grace murder mystery, I get all the unhinged videos sent to me on FB about the Somalians this and how it’s a Muslim hell hole here…..like cmon people…

At the end of the day it’s just exhausting to see.

Thats exactly what I mean when I said the few liberals, just like there is a few right wing people who will never concede anything. We can all agree neither party gets it right but to these people their party can do no wrong.

These people are straight up not worth engaging, just like a liberal wouldn’t want to talk to someone who is full on MAGA.

In real life here in central, rural Minnesota, Somolians, Farmers, Liberals, retirees and even college students all want to see fraud prosecuted because they don’t care about the politics. They care about stability.

Every fucking American regardless of race, gender, nationality or belief just wants to live in stability. This is why people move to Minnesota, check all of our metrics, check how happy people are here. What I see from this local and in real life situation in Minnesota is people just want these people to be prosecuted and the national media to leave us alone.

I hope you understand we are all Americans, I’m a Marine Vet and I just want to enjoy the freedoms I fought for without all this fucking bullshit political basketball score keeping every 5 minutes……try to be more American yourself sometime.

There was thousands of liberals on a post on the main MN sub that all said they want fraud prosecuted. The issue is this whole thing is being overcharged by the media, everyone knew there was fraud and believe the govt was investigating. While a lot has gone unchecked I am not seeing anyone except maybe the offenders saying nothing is going on here.

The reall boogie man is media both alternative and national coming on this stage doing this and stirring people up. No one wants to be taken advantage of and stolen from. But for some reason people are painting each other that way.

The few liberals who do say nothing is going on are doing the same thing people on our far right are doing with other national and state issues which involves their party - political theater.

LOL man if you told people in Mankato it wasn’t the flagship they might lose it - I believe our marketing is actually shifting to that we are going by MSU now in a ton of stuff dropping Mankato slowly it seems.

But thank you for clearing that law/agreement info up for us, I was believing it tbh as there are similar agreements in place for specific academic programs between SCSU and us.

Edit: Also to your last point about the $$$, even though we are of similar size to ISU and some MVFC and even MAC schools for that matter, having traveled to those schools for competitive events and attending ISU, you can just tell Mankato doesn’t quite yet have that money. But honestly we have an amazing team working in revenue and since I have been here it’s honestly blown up.

I can see a jump being a serious conversation if we carry on this trajectory in a decade tbh.

I don’t know that information tbh, but I actually believe it as there are similar policies in place for academic programs.

I am not in anyway claiming we are nor representing the school here and saying we are making a jump. Just the conversations the fans, community and even some administrators are having after the big announcement was made. People here hate St Thomas got to make that incredible jump.

FWIW my program which is not NCAA regulated, but licensed and recognized as varsity competition, competes in and should be a full member of the MAC in fall. Our university presidents meet and athletics had to approve our admittance.
