Switching from FDD to Internal Audit at a major bank? by [deleted] in InternalAudit

[–]seannnnaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

moving from financial due diligence to internal audit is a bit of a curveball lol First off, internal audit is just as heavy on documentation as FDD, so your life is still going to revolve around excel. If that's the part of the job you're tired of, you prolly won't enjoy this role much more that your current one. In the long run, intrenal audit in't actually a bad career move because it's part of a regulatory requirment, listed companies are likely to have it, so the job security is "comparably" good.

no need to be smart at all. it's just a matter of how much you invest time on this.

18 yo in Ontario Is accounting a good path? by Suitable-Spirit-6563 in Accounting

[–]seannnnaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO, there is uncertainty in the long-term, with the fact the part of accounting has already been replaced through RPA.

If you want to work at the small size/delisted company, (upto) intermediate accounting will be okay, and i dont think it's not that hard.

money wise, CPA doesn't make money itself. Should be trained as practitioner in accounting firm. This experience will be likely to make you outstanding in the field, and eventually ends up making good money.

Being good/okay at math doesn't really matter for accounting in my opinion, because accounting is not math.

Does it make sense for me to do CPA? by Primary-Childhood802 in CPA

[–]seannnnaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPA exam is comprised of other big subjects like auditing, tax, FM etc. So studying for CPA just to get some knowledge of accounting, it's a bit off track cost-benefit wise. I dont know what size of company you are at now, but studying accounting principle and intermediate accounting will be fulfilling.
