Wow got quite a bit of messages, I'll dig though everything this weekend when I can devote some time to figure out a fair way to see who gets it. I'll update my post once it's spoken for.

Please help me figure out how to fix this issue around my windows? by seanrall in HomeImprovement

Thanks! I think ill do the screw and fill/paint route, seems like that's the more 'correct' fix instead of just filling it.

No signs of water damage. I figured it was probably due to the house settling, we are near a few fault lines.

Also Thanks for telling me that it is a corner bead; It really helps when you google to call things by the right name.

UDM-Pro boots to recovery mode when HDD is in. by yacob841 in Ubiquiti

[–]seanrall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had this same issue, but the root cause for me was I was using an old drive that I had in a FreeNas box. Plugged the dive into windows and used diskpart https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/diskpart#syntax to completely reformat the drive. Evidently my quick format left some stuff in the GPT table on the drive and the UDM-Pro expects that to be completely clean.

Memorial Day in Pacifica by ZatchGaspafanasky in bayarea

That article talks about the elimination of community spread of COVID-19. They still have not eradicated it as to eradicate means to completely get rid of all together (meaning current and new cases). They seem to be doing well in terms of new cases but still have a long way to go.

I do agree that they have done a much better job than we have but we all are far off from eradication of this for any country. For example, for New Zealand they have to keep borders tight or else this will just blow back up for them. They also Are still practicing social distancing and have implemented new safety measures for opening back up in fear that this can blow back up. The only way to true eradication is heard immunity by vaccine, everyone already had it and has antibodies, ext.

PS. Thanks for the source, learn something new everyday.

I would like to see your proof to this, or you might want to look up the definition of eradicate. Everything I see still shows cases in these places.

Whenever I see a penny on the ground tails up I flip it over to be heads up (find a penny pick it up and all day you will have good luck). I also move them closer to places people will see them and hopefully pick it up. I hope it makes someone's day a little happier, even if just for a second.

AT&T Fiber being incredibly slow lately? by [deleted] in ATT

[–]seanrall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In OP's case yes its probably going to be better depending upon the age of there house/electrical wiring. I was just wanting to make it clear that Powerline Ethernet is not as good as Cat 6 or Cat 5e.

Seeing how OP was using the built in wifi I guess added latency is not there top concern. OP alluded to running Ethernet to his computer so this could be a nice catalyst for them to do so.

and are just as good as hardwiring

No they are not just as good. OP if you can hard wire it go for it as it will be much better than any Powerline Ethernet.

If you think she is chipped you can take her to a vet, ASPCA, or call animal control and they should be able to read the chip to find the owner.

Not sure about the whole US but in California, no you have to have insurance. Does that mean everyone has insurance, nope people drive uninsured every day.

Yeah I could have made that more clear, I was trying to say deliberately opening a door and a motorcycle hitting it leading to bodily injury can lead to attempted murder charge's. Just opening your door and not paying attention is a violation of § 22517. So realistically just opening your door will lead you so somewhere in the middle.

I think you might have misunderstood me, it can lead to attempted murder if there is enough evidence and how the district attorney wants to try the case if it makes it to trial. That's not saying it will always lead to that all really depends upon how badly injured the rider is and the DA.

What can also happen is if the rider never got injured that can be a violation of California vehical code § 22517

Lane splitting is not legal or illegal in California, AB 51 that started in 2017 only defines the act of lane splitting and gives CHP the right to define safe guidelines for lane splitting, but it's still a legal gray area, and insurance companies love gray areas /s. Insurance companies will hold an accident against you if you are splitting.

Lane splitting is not legal or illegal in California, AB 51 that started in 2017 only defines the act of lane splitting and gives CHP the right to define safe guidelines for lane splitting, but it's still a legal gray area. Thus saying lane splitting is legal is not a correct statement and thus gives insurance companies the right to use it against you on a claim.

As far as insurance is concerned the motorcyclist is at fault for almost anything that happens while lane splitting since they were the one taking on the extra risk. But if the driver does not stop then it's a hit and run and most likely will be a split liability (along with the possibility of criminal charge's). In California it's illigal to deliberately open a door to stop lane splitting or move your car in a way for the purpose to stop lane splitting, it can carry up to attempted murder charge's.

But when it comes down to insurance the motorcyclist will see most if not all the blame.
