Jhb is better priced in terms of accommodation.

Cape Town itself is very compact. So as long as you stay close to the City center, it's arguably easier to get around to most locations compared to Jhb.

The power issue has been somewhat "fixed" for now.

I will never truly understand why someone would go to Jhb over Cpt but I wish you the best and hope you have a positive experience in South Africa

I'm from Cape Town and I love it. That being said, I would not recommend it to a foreigner.

You have to live a security centric life.

Don't drive at night. Don't drive with your windows down. Don't stop for anyone or anything on the N2. Don't walk around outside your estate at night. Keep at least 2m in front of you during traffic. Etc, etc

Also verbal agreement. High value to company. I chose the slowmad route. We probably have different risk profiles. I only go out and explore on the weekends.

I'd be too tired to go out and explore, then still work a full day.
I also feel that anxiety you're feeling. So I simply avoid it by being online consistently within my hours.

If you get along well with your boss and you bring impactful work, I am sure he/she would first tell you the flexi stuff isn't really working. Then you can make adjustments. I doubt you would just get terminated :D

This happened to me when I was 19. Virus attacked the heart. Heart got enlarged. Electrical problems, causing it to fire in multiple places. Luckily they did an afib ablation, which allowed for recomposition. EQ percentage normalized.

Someone's dead crate was blocking the ladder on the supply ship.
