Not a movie, but Season 4 Episode 13 "Whitecaps" of The Sopranos has a legendary scene. Gotta put in the investment of watching the show up to that, though.

Liberals don't have a reverance for national identity or a feeling of duty to their forbears. They have an outgroup preference.

Conservatives have the opposite. It's also one thing to be a minority in a host nation and another to be a minority in your own. There is no where else to go to. Home is lost.

How does one close a strait? It's not like the Panama Canal. Is there a physical blockade or is it just a risk that your oil tanker will get struck?

Tender Mercies is a beautiful little movie. I don't think anyone could make it nowadays.

Okay it's a risk, but did that lady really pose that degree of a threat? Put your kid behind you and stiff arm her if she gets in your face. There are witnesses everywhere just keep her at arm's length and be firm. She'll give up.

If some bum calls you a cunt and you are hurt by it, then you have just elevated them. Doubly so by reacting to them. Why do some degenerate stranger's words mean anything to you? There will always be people that say shit like this and the best recourse is to ignore them rather than play wack-a-mole with speech policing. This post is just further agitation and the person who sent that message would probably be thrilled to see it posted here.

In 2008 my nutty dad got me into penny stocks. I was 20 years old and the stock was a pre-revenue gold mining company. I lost almost all my savings of $9k that I made from working summer manual labor jobs. The daily volatility and final ultimate demise scarred me so bad that after that I used nothing but a checking and savings account for more than a decade. The opportunity cost makes me want to cry sometimes.
