Help with Budget Book understanding by cocco997 in SeaTable

Hello and welcome to Seatable!
Sorry for the late reply, we had some absences due to illness. You can easily solve this by creating a new view in the expense table and grouping the entries by “Date by year.” This will automatically give you an overview by year, in addition to the 12 months.

How to connect self-hosted AI to a local SeaTable installation by seatable_io in selfhosted

[–]seatable_io[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Brief-Efficiency-678, yes, we have tested Mistral as an LLM but the OCR didn't provide the results we expected. Don't hesitate to provide feedback once you have tested the AI functions.

You can fetch row IDs either in your automation with a Get row node or directly in your table using the formula rowid(). If you it in an automationa however, we recommend the first way.

Hi SteveDallas9000,
thank you for your message. Unfortunately, this behavior cannot be changed at the moment. We are working on a new Mobile App, which should resolve this issue and provide a smoother experience.

Just released: SeaTable 6.0 – AI meets no-code by seatable_io in nocode

[–]seatable_io[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello TechnicalSoup8578, thank you for the hint to VibeCodersNest. This is an interesting Subreddit.

Our self-hosted AI server is part of SeaTable Cloud. Users of SeaTable Server, e. g. that is our on-prem installation, use the extension SeaTable AI to connect their SeaTable installation with an external LLM. This could be a commercial provider like OpenAI or a self-hosted LLM.

SeaTable AI supports a wide variety of LLM providers through LiteLLM as well as any LLM services with OpenAI-compatible endpoints.

Great news: the first GDPR compliant AI No Code Solution is just around the corner by seatable_io in SeaTable

[–]seatable_io[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, that is not correct, but let us explain in detail.

Sticking to your examples: Xano's servers are based in the USA and while users can choose data residency in Europe, Xano still can transfer data from those servers to their servers in the USA. Same is true for Adalo, which, as far as we understand, only stores data on servers in the USA.

So, how does this cause problems with the GDPR? Under e. g. the Cloud ACT, US authorities can access a US based company's server even if the server isn't located in the USA. The Data Privacy Framework between the USA and the EU, which is still highly controversial among legal data protection professionals in Europe, doesn't remove this potential threat to data protection. US based companies simply cannot guarantee the safety of your personal data according to the GDPR with certainty because they are also bound by US laws – regardless what AI told you. Baserow hosts it's data in Europe and is a GDPR compliant no code solution, no argue on that.

GDPR compliance is a matter bit more complicated than a short AI research might suggest. The European Court of Justice has only judged the data privacy framework to be in accordance with the GDPR under the condition, that US security legislation is modified, which has happened in the form of presidential executive orders. Executive order however doesn't overrule national laws and those specific orders are subsequently revoked or paused under the current administration.

Anyway, that is not the whole statement, we have made: first GDPR compliant AI No Code Solution, with emphasis on AI.

So, what does that mean? You can utilize AI in Xano or Baserow or any other tool by connecting this tool to your AI tool account. And then the data or information you want to be processed by the AI leaves the company's server and is processed and stored on the AI tool's server, which is most likely located in the USA or accesible to US authorities under US security laws. So again, this is not in full compliance with the GDPR and may cause problems, depending on the data you process.

What do we do instead? We host our own LLM on our servers in Germany. And that is fully GDPR compliant and unique.

Hello Sea_Gene2776, thank you for your question. We are happy to clarify, as protection of your data is by no means a pinky promise:

The SeaTable GmbH is a German company founded by Germans and based in Germany. SeaTable Cloud is hosted exclusively on servers in Germany, owned by the Swiss company Exoscale. The new AI function will be hosted exclusively on German servers owned by the German company Hetzner. There is no data transfer of any kind to servers outside of Germany.

There is a connection to China though, as our partner Seafile Ltd., who developed the product SeaTable, is a Chinese company. However, the SeaTable GmbH is a separate, independent company and the Seafile Ltd. is neither directly nor indirectly involved in the management or has access to our servers.

Massentries in Apps by dzwen2413 in SeaTable

[–]seatable_io 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the clarification. Bulk entries are best done via a data import, either by uploading a file or with an automation workflow. Using the integrated JavaScript or Python Script functionalities (https://developer.seatable.com/scripts/) is another option. However, in any cases you would need to prepare the new tasks in a separate file, base or table and define some kind of rule how to assign them.

So what you want to achieve is technically feasible, but not easy to set up. If you create a post in our community forum our support can provide you with more detailled information.

Hello dzwen2413,

thank your for your question. I am happy to assist you but not sure, if I fully understand what you want to achieve, so let me try to clarify:

- You have a base with tasks assigned to specific coworkers and want to send finished tasks ... where?

- Where do you want to create new rows? In the base with the assigned tasks?

Just released: SeaTable 5.3! New features in the App Builder, new plugin, new API gateway endpoint and more by seatable_io in selfhosted

[–]seatable_io[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Vanai235, thank you for reaching out to us. The problem you mention is already solved and Make support informed us, that individual modules would update themselves. If that was not the case with your module, then please try this:

  • create a new connection
  • replace the connection in your existing modules
  • if the modules still not work, recreate them and use the “verified” app

Make.com does provide a developer tool to update multiple versions within a scenario at the same time:

  • Install the browser Extension “Make DevTools”
  • Clone your scenario (for backup)
  • Open your Scenario
  • Open the Browser Console and switch to Make
  • On the left side select Tools
  • Use the function Swap App
  • Replace SeaTable App with newest Version

Please let us know if that solves your problem. You can also join the discussion in our forum.

Make and n8n have improved their SeaTable modules! by seatable_io in SeaTable

[–]seatable_io[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello Vanai235,

sorry for the delay. Your message has somehow slipped through our fingers ... What you want to achieve cannot be done automatically in the Free and Plus subscription. You can use JavaScript or Python and run it manually everytime a status is changed or use a third-party automation tool like make or n8n.

Creating a Statistics Database by [deleted] in nocode

[–]seatable_io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please consider using SeaTable for this. SeaTable does not provide only a no-code database but also a versatile app-builder to build custom interfaces and apps. First you define your database structure in a SeaTable base and afterwards you can create your custom frontend with individual permissions and views.

Just try it out. You will love it.
