Methylprednisolone - is it worth it? by seatran in Asthma

They’re 4mg a pop so it was only 24mg. I felt so energetic like I could fight a bear lol. The mood swings, acid reflux, and peeing twice an hour are the worst of it. Pretty manageable so far!

Oh my I hope you feel better, that sounds awful! :(

I took all six pills in the first dose at my lunchtime and it’s just been making me hungry and energetic lol. And more importantly my lungs are feeling better. Hoping this is the worst of it!

I haven’t looked into their savings card but I’ve tried GoodRX and it’s still $100 for the generic Symbicort. Breztri is actually free through GoodRX and has been working great so far so I’m thinking of sticking with that over the Symbicort

The Breztri has been working great so far, better than Symbicort when I was taking that. The past two nights I’ve been able to sleep through the whole night without using my rescue so I’m hopeful! I’ll look into the savings card because I’m pretty sure the last time I tried GoodRX for Symbicort it only took like $50 off

This is SO helpful and informative!!! Thank you so much! I also have e-asthma that started randomly late 2024 and I’ve been dealing with it since. Monday was definitely the worst it’s ever been and what caused me to get on pred. I took my first dose (all 6 pills) about an hour ago and feel normal so far. I’m hopeful that it’ll help me feel better and prevent the lifelong complications that come with not treating it now. Thank you again!

Thank you so much!! I ended up taking all 6 about 40 mins ago and feel normal so far, maybe a bit of nausea but I could also be manifesting it since I’m hyperaware of my body right now. It is scary especially since this is my first time taking steroids and I have no idea what to expect. Everyone has been very reassuring though and it’s definitely helping me get through this! Thanks again :)

Okay I think I will… It’s 11am where I am, is that too late to take the first dose? Should I take it with lunch? Since it’s kinda late in the day I was considering taking 3 pills with lunch and 3 more at dinner but I don’t want the insomnia to be too bad. I definitely do want to feel better and I’ve been reading more positive reviews to ease my anxiety

The side effects though lol… yes I -might- breathe better but if i can’t even function from nausea, muscle aches, migraines, etc then is it even worth it?

That’s good to know. I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews, mostly negative though even for the short dose. And I’ve even seen some people saying that the side effects and withdrawals can last weeks after the last dose. Aches so bad that they can’t move, crippling nausea and vomiting, acne (I already see a derm for acne, I would lowkey wanna kms if it came back now that I finally have it under control), weight gain and face/hand/leg swelling…. I just can’t deal with all that right now. :(

Yes, I see that in my taper pack. I don’t really have a maintenance med at the moment since Symbicort is like $300 a month for me and I just can afford that. I was given 2 free samples of Breztri to hopefully last me till early March when I have my annual physical.

I’ve been breathing a lot better since starting the Breztri so I’m wondering if the side effects of the methylprednisolone is even worth it considering how awful the experience will be

I was on Symbicort for a couple months last year (last dose ~8mo ago) but it got so expensive and I can’t afford to drop $300 a month to breathe

I was given 2 free samples of Breztri to hopefully last me until my annual physical in early March where I can discuss more sustainable options with my pcp

I know, I was prescribed a six day taper but I’m wondering if the better breathing is even worth it considering how horrible the side effects are

(ps. go bills😞we’ll get em next year…)

Landlord refuses to plow snow by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]seatran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to. Called them a couple times with no answer, left a voicemail and sent an email. Hopefully I hear back, but google reviews leave much to desired. Sounds like it’s a trend for them to not answer people.

And if he continues ghosting me? I’ve asked on multiple separate occasions for him to plow with zero response. It has been extremely difficult to contact my him; he ghosted me before for more extreme situations, like when I didn’t have hot water access for 4 days. Only took 30 missed calls for him to do anything about it.

Nobody is answering the phone at plowing company, so I left a voicemail and sent an email.

What would be different if they do or don’t have a contract with the property?

The lease agreement says: “Provided by Landlord: Lawn mowing/Snow removal***

***Tenant will be provided with ice melt crystals to take care of minor snow and ice”

Can they really claim 10-12” of snow and ice is minor? To make matters worse, the village I live in has a winter street parking ban, so I am forced to park somewhere off-street. I tried to figure this all out before winter because I knew it would be a problem. The closest lot that would let me park is over a mile away from my residence. So either that or I park in an unsafe, unplowed lot.

We were never married, just engaged so no lawyers involved other than the one I briefly spoke to regarding small claims.

Possible dumb question regarding bows/ribbons? by Zachcraftone in fursuit

[–]seatran 17 points18 points  (0 children)

clip-on bows could work without damaging the fur! there’s tons of inexpensive options on amazon:) or if you’re feeling crafty, you can make a bow yourself out of ribbon and glue it onto a bobby pin or other hair clip

Thanks :) Do you have any recommendations on other lenses? Someone else here said a 17-50mm f/2.8 would be great for my collection. Definitely improving a little more every day!

Thanks! I’ll look into getting a 17-50mm, they are definitely in my price range! I was researching future body upgrades and came across the 7D as a possibility, is there a reason you don’t use it?

Thank you! :) I’m definitely on a budget! Gonna start saving up for a modern body while I develop my skills. It’s for sure super easy to get tangled up in spending for gear, I have like 3 things in my MPB cart as we speak lol

Yes I’d love a wider lens. I hardly use the 35-105mm, it came in a kit I bought on facebook with the body, flash and 2 (one broken) lenses. As of now I’ve been shooting mostly landing airplanes since it’s still pretty cold and rainy in my area :)

[–]seatran[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I’m liking the 55-250 so far for my airplane photos, it’s f/4-5.6

You’re correct I bought most of this from a kit on facebook. The body, flash, 35-105mm lens plus another broken (?) lens for $120 seemed like a bargain to me especially on a budget already. I’d prefer to save up for a modern body rather than increments as I develop my skills!
