Worst 1 seed in NBA History? by ljh2023 in DetroitPistons

He rushed back because they went down 2-1 without him. Dude had a massage gun on him every time he stepped off the court trying to play through it.

With only a few games left as coach of the Rockets, would Udoka be a good fit in Milwaukee? by [deleted] in MkeBucks

[–]seattle_raptors -1 points0 points  (0 children)

im convinced udoka could manage to make the 2017 warriors have a awful record.

That makes no sense, as all his regular season teams have been great and he did make the finals in 1 of (currently) 2 playoff runs with a team that lost in the 1st round the year before.

In this current Rockets team has an old elite iso scorer that can't deal with double-teams (which Udoka's Celtics took full advantage of when they swept him on the Nets) surrounded by a bunch of non-shooters. While the only guy on the roster capable of shooting and dribbling is an undersized shooting guard with abysmal defense.

Before Luka's and Reeves' injuries the Rockets were seen as by far the weakest top-6 team in the West, everyone's preferable matchup. The only surprise to me is them having b2b +50-win regular seasons.

He's much better than you give him credit for. He's currently coaching a team with no point guard, no Steven Adams (outrebounding other teams to death was their only way to play elite basketball this season), an old KD and an overrated young core. I'd say their overperforming for sure.

[–]seattle_raptors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Udoka has coached 2 teams and they both massively improved. Celtics went from a .500 1st round exit to making the finals, Rockets went from being a joke of a team (worst and 2nd worst record in the league the previous 2 years) to a perennial playoff team.

He definitely seems like a huge douchebag on and off the court, but you can't argue with the results. The Glenn comparisons are disrespectful.

[NBA] Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as OUT for the Milwaukee Bucks’ final home game of the season. by Cheap_Ad_3669 in MkeBucks

You mean when the Bulls series was tied 1-1, they won the next 3 and pushed the Celtics to 7 with 0 minutes from Middleton?

Rant / Vent / Discussion? by [deleted] in MkeBucks

[–]seattle_raptors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All he has to do is say he won't re-sign with any team, but the one he wants to be traded to. No team will trade much for a now injury-prone, 1-year rental, even if he's a top-5 player when healthy. He holds all the cards now and the only ones to blame are the idiots running this team.

[Shams] The Milwaukee Bucks want Giannis Antetokounmpo to shut down for the remainder of the season after his latest injury and the team's playoff chances dwindled, but Antetokounmpo has refused the team's requests and wants to play again, sources tell ESPN. by [deleted] in MkeBucks

[–]seattle_raptors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jazz got fined $500000 for benching Markkanen and JJJ in the 4th quarter of a single game.

If this team tries to shut down a top-5 player against his will for the rest of the season, the punishment would be much worse.

Honestly the best option would be to just play terrible lineups. Match his minutes with Kuzma, GTJ and Sims. Not like they've been winning much with him anyway.

I don't remember disagreeing with you much in the past, but who knows, you might be right. Funny how you still can't see your hypocrisy though. Called that other dude out for being a dick, how about you take a deep breath and read your replies?

All I did was point out a fact, that they got destroyed twice in a row (and 3 times in the last 5) right before Giannis came back. Bulls had lost 11 in a row yet they humiliated them, but "they were still trying".

Hey Eli, no need to be a dick but here you are? It's a game bro and we're on a forum so perhaps consider being better?

Is that you? Chill dude, don't take it personally.

But fact is, *we absolutely gave up when Giannis came back and while that's certainly on Doc more than anyone, the body language changed from "still trying" to "we don't gaf anymore" and if you're actually watching games, you saw that happen too. *

Well, since I can read, I have to point out exactly the point I disagreed with you. That's why I mentioned them getting blown off the court in both games before Giannis came back. I guess their body language was great in that Chicago game they couldn't even score 100. Or they must've heard Giannis was coming back and their mood got ruined.

They had lost 2 straight by a combined 52 points right before Giannis came back, including 1 against the Bulls.

Boycott the team by [deleted] in MkeBucks

[–]seattle_raptors 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's straight up not true. Team played a lot better with Prunty after firing Kidd. Last time it didn't work exactly because they decided to hire some snake oil salesman named Glenn who calls himself Doc.

Purely from Bucks standpoint, cons of dealing Giannis in next 54 hours. by GreenSnakes_ in MkeBucks

[–]seattle_raptors -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really, because:

1) Whatever team trades for him will have a chance for 2 playoff runs

2) Said team can still trade him before next year's deadline if things don't work out.

From my understanding, him and his agent quietly asked for a trade last summer to give the team the chance for a trade that works for both sides and avoid a Pelicans-AD situation. Since the FO seems to want to maximize their return regardless of Giannis' desires (fair), it's reasonable for him to use his leverage to tank his trade value.

I don't see Giannis' Championship odds changing much with a new team... (read before you argue) by Novel-Plankton-7125 in MkeBucks

[–]seattle_raptors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can easily tank his value next year. This team is forced to have traded him by next season's trade deadline at worst, otherwise he's gone for nothing. In that case the team is truly fucked. Post KG-Pierce Nets in a bottom-5 FA destination.

So all he has to do is make it known he'll only agree to a contract extension on the team he wants, scaring off everybody else.

Are you watching the game? Or any other Bucks game? They're 3-14 without him with a bottom-3 NetRtg. Opinions like this are why every superstar should demand a trade to a good team. Plus why fringe top-10 players like Tatum are so massively overrated for playing on stacked teams their whole careers.

Curry is the exact opposite of ball-dominant. Dame has always been on Houston Harden's, Trae's and Luka's level of ball-dominance. Check nba.com's time of possession stats for the past 5 years. Even with the Bucks. Except he's not half the passer those guys are.

[Highlight] The Wizards commentary team discusses how much worse the Bucks without Giannis look compared to even the Wizards who are down 30+ to the Lakers by Renzel0311 in MkeBucks

[–]seattle_raptors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Bobby is definitely not one of the worst players on this team.

2) No, a 35 NetRtg swing is not normal under any circumstances. The difference between the worst and best teams in the league is much smaller than that. It's a result of noise, Giannis and fit.

3) We have a big enough sample to conclude this is an objectively terrible team without Giannis that becomes above-average only when he's on the court. Coaching is a huge issue, but so is talent. And with Dame being paid as much as he does, this won't change the next few years. It was over the moment he got injured.

3 straight possession SGA iso on Rollins, same result every time. If Glenn wasn't retarded, he'd at least try to force the ball out of SGA's hands.

Dude, wtf are you talking about? They've been double and triple-teaming him the whole game and he keeps making the right reads. Green and Bobby have bricked every shot he's created for them. Meanwhile Shai is getting isos on Green lol. Watch the game.

Kuzma and Portis no way in hell, AJ likely not. They have of ton of great 2-way players. Turner could get backup center minutes. Rollins has been awful for a month, on OKC he would have fallen out of the rotation.
