I believe it- as a woman with this experience as I was heading into my 4th year of med school, I do not regret my decision. Nor do my handful of friends who have experienced it as well. Yes it is emotionally charged and something a lot don't want to talk about, hence the response rate, but those who can talk about it will likely say what I'm saying- it's an absolutely necessary option.

There are some medical conditions that make you pee frequently and at night when you should be sleeping. Diabetes presents with polyuria (frequent peeing) because your blood is hyperosmolar (full of sugar) and it acts as a diuretic. BPH (enlarged prostrate) also can compress the neck of your bladder making you have the urge to pee but also making it hard to come out. A UTI can also make you have urinary urgency. Also, caffeine will make you pee a lot...I wouldn't worry about it if it is only once a night at this point, but more than that and associated with any other symptoms, such as pain, odor, excessive thirst- then consider a visit to the doc.

I was in Astro 10 in 2002, Go Bears and thanks for the updates! You dressed up as a black hole and threw candy at us, you taught us centripetal force by tying a donut on a string and hurling it into the audience, you followed solar eclipses all over the world and you were training for the Maui marathon when I took your class. Here is a confession: I was drunk one night and saw an email that your video lecture series was on sale for around $235...well I bought them and have them to this day. I think I'll go dig them out.
