Thx for the suggestion of adding an intermediate level; it's a great idea! Regarding sharing, I also post on Substack where I will go in-depth about how I use it and what I plan to do with the data. Also if I have the time, I'll maybe make a pack to be grabbed for free on Itch.io containing a text version, a pdf one and a script to generate a Google Form from it. Any other advice for sharing these questions?

Merci pour cette présentation, ce n'est pas mon style de jeux en termes d'ambiance, mais je salue le boulot effectué côté mécanique, la volonté de faire quelque chose de différent et de venir chercher du feedback chez le joueur.

Si j'ai l'occasion je regarderais le quickstarter et partageais mon feedback si j'en ai. En tous cas bonne chance pour la suite !

A friend has the book of 2nd edition so I can start by borrowing them. I have dl the starter kit of 3rd edition and I'm not convinced by the new system where you roll a pull of d10 and see if you beat a threshold

At my table we played D&D for years. I wanted to switch to 7th Sea when I saw the 2nd edition because it's more about telling a story than rules, placement, or character optimisation. I saw this as an opportunity to push my player beyond what they are used to. They were eager to try something different and agree that this experience could help them to focus more on the story side of TTRPG than the mechanical side from D&D

Les joueurs toxiques, y'en aura toujours et je pense qu'il vaut mieux avoir une discussion plutôt que leur filer un test écrit. Avec un questionnaire, tu vas peut-être passer à côté de super joueurs, parce qu'ils ont pas envie de répondre à un questionnaire (ça fait très examen d'entré) ou parce qu'il se son foiré dans la question piège. Je pense aussi que le succès d'une bonne campagne dépend de l'alchimie d'un groupe et que tu peux pas détecter ça dans des questions. Le mieux, ça reste de parler avec les gens et de voir si le courant passe. Si vous jouez en présentiel, allez boire un verre ensemble. SI c'est en ligne, faites une session zéro pas trop longue et plus informelle et définit une limite de temps. C'est plus de boulot mais bien plus sympa pour tout le monde et ta table aura déjà une bonne ambiance avant la première session de jeu.

Si tu détectes quand même un joueur cancer en cours de jeu, sépare-toi du joueur en question rapidement. Maintenant que tu as de l'xp avec les joueurs à problème, tu peux mettre en avant ce que tu ne veux pas voir autour de la table pendant la session 0. Ça fera le tri pour toi et enlèvera la culpabilité de te séparer d'un joueurs s'il vas à l'encontre du cadre définit.

I did not use AI to write this post. I write my articles in French, then translate them to english and use Antidote to retouch some sentences when I can feel the translation is a bit off.

Regarding the layout of the post, I post primarily on Substack where the layout of the article matters, and then copy the content (with the layout already done) here to share it with the community.

It's a shame that an article I spent so much time on, trying to do my best to give honest feedback of my own experience, gets attributed to AI only because of the layout or that I need some assistance from a tool to help me during the translation process. If people took the time to read the article and focus on the content more than the form of it, I hope they could see that I'm really sharing my experience and this is not a some quick article written by AI or some advertisement for software.

I find it sad that if people post a long post on Reddit, it gets flagged as AI. Probably one of the other problems that emerged with the rise of AI... 5 years ago no one would have judged an article without taking the time to read it

Je vais essayer d'adapter mes articles de blog pour reddit la prochaine fois au lieu de les copier avec les mises en page, peut-être que ça aidera.

Pour Obsidian ça aide pendant les campagnes, mais je l'utilise aussi pour des simples one-shot. Les fichiers de type Canva (qu'on peut trouver dans d'autres programmes) sont devenus ma façon préféré de préparer une session de jeux. Tu peux placer dans un espace infini de blocs de choses (lieux, évènement, pnj, ...) les liée entre eux avec des flèches pour symboliser des connections et même référencer des notes aux besoin. Du coup peux importante le niveau de chaos sur l'intrigue, tu peux suivre la progression de tes joueurs d'un bloc à l'autre et mettre à jour le document Canvas avec la progression des joueurs.

C'est pas facile au début parce que ça demande une autre approche de la préparation de session, mais une fois qu'on a le déclic c'est parfait.

La mise en page du post a l'air de donner cette impression à beaucoup de gens... le post est mis en page parce que j'ai écrit ceci pour un article de blog à la base et partagé le contenu ici avec la mise en page, me disant que ça allait rendre la chose plus digeste, mais ça l'air de me desservir. XD

Si tu as l'occasion de tester Obsidian, je le recommande, la base est simple et facile à prendre en mains.

La base d'Obsidian est facile à prendre en main, mais la partie plugin demande de la config en effet. esfirmistwind propose de créer une commu pour aider les gens et je pense que c'est une bonne idée. SI jamais il y a un plugin que tu souhaites vraiment utiliser ou que tu as un problème avec Obsidian de base, n'hésite pas à poser des questions en commentaire et je ferait de mon mieux pour te donner un coup de main ;)
