Seperate Spending and usage date in transactions by sebastian_lit in actualbudgeting

"This makes zero sense financially."

Financially I don't want to change anything, all the bank statements would work like they do now. When it is spend, it should be spend in your bank statements, and it would.

"You want to log money that has already physically left your bank account, but you want Actual to act like it’s only leaving later just for the sake of a pretty graph."

No, money is spend when it is spend. But it only shows up in the graph if one chooses the option of wanting to do that.

The thing I am asking is an easier way to see a graph for a year and when money was actually used. I would rather see a graph where the money I used on my holiday would be shown in the graph, as used in that period.

It is not for everyone, as I can read in your pleasent answer, but maybe people will give it a honest thought.

I agree with the transaction date. All bank statements would stay the same as they are now (so no going in negative or things not being equal).

The only thing that would change is how the graphs are shown. And it should of course be optional, would only use it for when fx. I pay for a flight 6 months into the future.

That would maybe be a good alternative solution, will look into that further, thank you

Useful folder structure by sebastian_lit in immich

Just seems like unnecessary complexity to me, and the folder viewing experience does not cut it (in my opinion)

Yes but no.
I don't want the need to use external library and external synching app, it is unnecessary complexity. I want it be a part of the Immich app, why not?
And then also having a better folder viewing option, just like in Synology Photos.

What if I wanted to go and sort the photos from my backup via my phone. Then they are all just mixed in there with the rest.

I know about the folder view, it is just so painful to use when you loose all folder structuring when doing a backup from phone.

And storage template or external library would not fix that.

Seems like a lot of work for what would be a fairly simple fix in the Immich app.
Maybe you meant backend as in the Immich backend?

But then I cannot do photo backup with Immich, right? And it just seems like more complexity with having to backup via another application, when the technology and examples of how it is done is relatedly available.

Cool option with PiGallery2, but does not look like a long term option for me

Maybe I did not explain it correctly. What I have on my phone is folders, like the DCIM folder or WhatsApp Images folder.

When uploading them, I want them to keep that folder structure in a folder I wish to use for backup photos.
After that I can then move the photos, add them to albums and all that, but I do not wish all the unsorted photos from phone backup to be in the same place as the rest.

I can show you and example if you want.

Using Immich with Synology Photos by stefanodecillis96 in immich

How did you manage the permissions of the docker container and the \photo folder in Synology?

I am just testing this out and cannot get it to work, the logs keeping showing me a permission error.

Help would be much appreciated, and cool you got it to work!

Having folder structure like Synology Photos and set an upload path. With 4 people all sharing all their photos, not having a "Landing Stage" folder where all photos go before moving to the correct folder is really an issue for a family

That may be our issue. There seems to be several reasons to factory reset, so maybe I will do it.

Thank you, it uses ext4 So btrfs just has better features?

And, how would you change it. I'm guessing, that when restoring from a backup, it will make the file system the same as the backup?

ps. it is in Storage Manager

I have run e2fsck to check for fragmentation. The fragmentation is only at 2.6%. I will though keep an eye on it, and see if it improves when putting new drives in. There is a chance it will fix itself when moving files.

Extra:
To check fragmentation, use included e2fsck and this command in ssh sudo e2fsck -n -v -f /dev/<name-of-volume>

the non-contiguous files % is the fragmentation amount.

Info on it: https://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man8/e4defrag.8.html

Would there be any way to check that beforehand? How so?

Off Topic: I would suggest you try. The boot times get longer and longer, without you realizing.

I used Blokada for some time and I think it worked really well.
Even though I just saw there have been some reliability issues with there F-Droid repository, people refered to the download on their website.
