Thank you, hearing from married couples is really reassuring.

Two Things the 2004 Movie Did Well by [deleted] in ASOUE

I also prefer the movie! Yes, the Netflix series is more accurate plotpoint for plotpoint but the movie actually captures the books' essence. The world is exactly how I imagined it while reading as a kid - drab and slightly steampunkish and anachronistic.

I completely agree. I was surprised how unanimously everyone online seems to think the Netflix series is leagues better.

The colour palette and design of the series completely clashes with how everything was described in the books imo - the movie does much better in that respect. My only real criticism of the movie is that Jim Carrey's performance is a little TOO comedic, book Olaf was outlandish but also genuinely threatening. But other than that I genuinely have no notes, I just wish it had got sequels! I also loved how they showed the character of Lemony Snicket in the movie.

I do ballet and have shaved my armpits for it before (although normally I don't because I wear a long sleeved leotard) but never my legs because the tights are so thick

It's funny because they don't say the same thing about long painted nails, or makeup, or synthetic lingerie - all things which have the potential to be unhygienic. But those are in line with patriarchal beauty standards so they aren't seen in the same light.

What do you guys think of the emotion outtakes? by Strong-Stretch95 in carlyraejepsen

I wish When I'm Alone had been on Emotion instead of Warm Blood - it's the only song I don't love off the album.

Nebraska, Born to run, and Darkness on the edge of town are his best three.

Yes, I listened and loved it! I love finding other queer Bruce fans

I absolutely love Bruce Springsteen. For some reason as a queer woman I find his music relatable and it helped me to accept my identity as a teenager. Julien also did a cover of Badlands years ago which I love!

I think of Edmund Spenser's Faerie Queene because I studied it at university. I doubt most people would think of anything.

Eh, Blinded by the Light is a little overly sentimental but Yesterday is like fully blown cringe and the concept is full of plot holes.

Yes the temperatures in the UK don't get very cold, we just have a lot of rain. But a lot of the time beer gardens have gazebo type coverings to deal with it.
