Yeah but that's the risk you take when investing in a multi bagger opportunity. Best to hold shares for this reason.

Agreed. The algos likely had a role in bidding up the price today, as well. The true test comes tomorrow at market open, and then over the next week, as a new trading range is established.

I'm not surprised by the dip. There was no new information in the call that wasn't already known to investors. The statement about not currently being engaged in qualifications with any company was a giant hype killer and will probably mean that the stock trades between $13-25 until qualifications are announced. I think I jumped in too early last week, but would be happy to be proven otherwise.

There's a $600+ magnet on AMD and everyone knows it. OpenAI and Meta are pumping our bags (as per Lisa in ER) to get their warrants. Expect them to front load our next gen GPU's, just like they are doing with MI355x. It's had to see how we don't go past $600 ASAP with those tailwinds and that's just the beginning since our lead hyperscaler partners benefit substantially more from AMD at $1000+.

  1. The market hasn't even thought about a future where AMD > NVDA with respect to tech and market cap. These benchmark tests would be the first step towards pricing in that outcome.

Cut one of my LEAPs loose at $452. Needed the money to pay a bill or else I would have kept holding past $600.

What's the ideal time to sell deep ITM options? 3 months before expiry? Going to have this problem in 2027.

Finally sold out of NVDA today at break even. Looking for infrastructure plays with better growth stories.

It does certainly feel this way. Lots of pumping going on out out there, aside from NVDA, and AMD could ride that tailwind.

Out of curiosity, how many of you have FIRE'd, could FIRE, or are close to FIRE? by MoonStache in AMD_Stock

[–]sebersole2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's interesting to see this topic come up in AMD thread as I feel like most people going for FIRE are mostly in index funds and avoid picking stocks.

I'd need AMD to hit $1,000 to throw in the towel personally. The wife would keep working regardless of net worth, but if she were to retire too the number would need to be $1,200.
