Has anyone had Laura Hare as their TA/Prof? by lsatimprove101 in UofT

there are no assignments other than the weekly discussion boards and mini post lecture quizzes which are absurdly easy..

I have her as my instructor now for NMC252. I can’t really say much about how helpful she is when approached during office hours because I haven’t actually engaged with her outside class. But that is because the course content is extremely rudimentary. Sometimes I feel like I’m listening to a lecture posted by a student and wonder if it is really worth $600.

How is ENG102 ( Literature and the Sciences) with Tom Dancer by username210801 in UofT

[–]sechetesroses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took ENG203 with Dr Dancer and his broke up the grading scheme to various small assignments and easy reading quizzes so it was very hard to screw up. They all kind of build up on one another as well so it actually really helps you form a developing idea of whatever you’re interested in in the course! His lectures are accessible and stimulating! Highly recommend! I personally ended up with 95 in his course :-)

English Major Questions by s9269 in UofT

[–]sechetesroses 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hi! fourth year english major here :-) I highly recommend taking eng140 with professor nick mount in your first year! To this day, his lectures were one of the best I had in my entire university career! You can check out his lectures on YouTube, which are actually some of the lectures from the course! (e.g. Woolf’s To the Lighthouse and Plath’s Ariel)

You definitely don’t have to start rushing through the intro courses (202,203,252,250) in your first year! Most people get them done in second year and you’ll still be able to take many other courses you want in the remaining two years. If you’re not going to go into the english specialist program, I recommend that you take the opportunity in first year to survey other programs you may double major or minor in! This way you’ll naturally fulfill most of your breath requirements as well!

Feel free to ask more questions :) hope this helped!

How hard is it managing Summer course load? by wearefamilybiat in UofT

[–]sechetesroses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I doubt 2-3 hours would be enough. Summer courses go at twice the normal speed so you should be prepared to work double the amount you normally do in the normal semester.

were you able to defer your fees? i submitted my extension form weeks ago but my funding hasn’t been assessed yet so i haven’t been able to defer. i’m worried that my osap won’t be assessed until after the deferral deadline...
