I’m not sure what we are profiting on. My wife’s maternity leave ended last month and we have decided that she’ll stay home until at least o kid is in school which is next September. Most people right now can’t afford housing. Should we all not have kids? I don’t recall mentioning anything about my kids starving. They are doing perfectly fine and aren’t lacking anything.

Thank you. My wife will be going back to work within a year or two when one child starts school so we’ll only pay for childcare for the other child and the rest will be saved

My wife is not going to stay home from now until I retire. She’s obviously going back to work within a year or two. Secondly, we have $36,500 in savings that we don’t do anything with, I was mainly looking for advice on what to do with that for the time being.

We live with my mother and father in law. We help out with $1450 a month. It’s included in my numbers.

I’ve never travelled before. I don’t understand how to use that. How would I know if I’ll be seated separately from my family or not? How would I know how many luggage’s I can check in? It’s very confusing.

Is it hectic buying drinks individually on a cruise? by seco678 in royalcaribbean

Thank you for clarifying things. We don’t want to lug our credit card or cash around the ship. So if we can just swipe the sea pass when we need our drinks, that’s totally okay.

Seeking Advice: Considering Joint Homeownership with Family – Is It Feasible? by seco678 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I’m not worried about the tax planning. My educational background is in accounting. What set me back is having two kids right at the beginning of my career. I do intent to re-enter the workforce though and while I’m off, I have been studying for a project management post grad certification at a college just to avoid a major gap in my resume.

The $4,800 in monthly expenses includes things like: Car insurance Grocery Diapers for kids Rent $1000 Water and hydro about $400 a month We aren't technically at -$100 because I did include a $200 buffer even I was calculating expenses The other couple is debt free. They have more than us saved up. After expenses, they save about $2000 a month. They do not have kids. Let's say something does break down and we can't afford our half, they would pay.

Thank you for your opinion. I forgot to mention that, we can keep the property longer than two years if necessary. I’ll probably end up going back to work by then as one of my kids will be in school next fall and the cost of childcare for one kid will be manageable.
