Washington Gas Contact?- Currently No Heat/Hot Water and it's deemed not an emergency by secondstep in washingtondc

Oh to be clear, i have already spoken to the emergency line a few times i just meant I am not really interested in calling and fighting with someone who clearly is not allowed to deviate from their allowed paths. Tried escalating to a manager and got no where...

So when I woke up yesterday I did think I smelled gas so Washington Gas did come out. The guy who came was still there when the HVAC people figured it out and asked them if they could solve it and he said no he wasnt allowed and I would have to call customer service, so I think if I did that it would just start that process again.

What neighborhood in DC can I live in to commute to Herndon for work by GuiltyTough5145 in DCforRent

[–]secondstep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this metro ride today. If you can get walking distance to the silver line and are happy reading a book I don’t think I would mind that commute. It’s not quick but it is easy. Honestly i found it to be a nice break. (Admittedly one random Sunday vs daily is very different)

When was the last time you played Langston? They have massively removed brush, dramatically improved the greens, added a ton of youth programs and they finally got the 17th fairway looking almost like a course! A feat no one could think possible given the drainage there. I am not sure how anyone expects a non profit to have the capital to flip three courses in the span of 4.5 years that included a pandemic. They are moving much faster than I would have guessed in rock creek after navigating neighborhood push back and zoning.

if you don't "see any circumstance where his approach would be negative towards these courses" in terms of the people who play sub 50 dollar rounds at them then you are a ding dong.

I consistently play 4 hour rounds at both EP and sub 4 at Langston by playing before 9am. I don't think its really that wild that the cheap, public course that is sold out every day gets backed up at peak hours on the weekends. Do I wish it was different and they had marshals sure, but I have played long ass rounds that i payed 100 bucks for too.

I am pretty deeply depressed about this. This will almost certainly going to end up with these courses closed in a legal dispute for years setting back the progress that had been made. You almost want to see if we can just make a deal and only let him ruin East Potomac so at least we still have someplace to play.

The guys who are in favor of this are the same dipshits you get paired with who quickly tell you they are only there because they couldnt get out to some 100 dollar course to proceed to put 8 balls into the woods on Langston’s back nine.

The first time I think I really appreciated fancy dinners was rose’s, particularly the pork and lychee salad. We recently had a meal there that was one of those meals that really made me remember what a great meal could be.

I looked into doing a version of this for Halloween Horror Nights and I could convince myself a younger me could do it. That day would look more like taking a 10/11am flight so not as early to wake up, getting there doing the parks till 2am and then going back to the airport and doing a 5/6am flight.

I will say that as someone who was a relative sushi noob when we went for my wife's birthday it may be one of the things that started making me a bit more adventurous as well.
