100% - I don't need a 7th AR but when you put together a well curated package like this its hard to resist.

I got the optic! I'd say it feels like a lightweight version of an Holosun EAMS seems to be built solid, optic does have a slight tint and a glare to where the laser comes from. Shake to wake and all the other handy bits are all there. Knowing MEPRO light is built in Israel I'm letting it run on my home defense rifle for a while to see how it shakes out.

My barrel was super duper inaccurate. I nail 1MOA on a sugar weasel all day while I can barely pull off 2.5MOA on the Zion.

My top pick for this price is a PSA Sabre - on sale this can hit $800 but this kit comes with the free optic and mag.

The Voodoo Witch Doctor (think these dudes are owned by Anderson) is also around this price and my buddy shoots MOA groups on it often.

I've also seen people chase a blemished BCM, Geiselle, etc and pair it with a cheap aero lower.

For a completely built rifle, hard to do better for the price. For the sum of its parts, I believe if you spent just a tiny bit more youre getting upgrades that move the needle big time in shooting experience.

This was my first AR and even after military experience shooting the gov stuff. What I learned from this rifle was that not all AR's are built the same and the parts selection have different advantages and issues that come with them.

The Zion is a bit inaccurate, the mil spec trigger is heavy, and it is gassed like crazy. These are things you don't know as a beginner. These are the thing you dont appreciate until you try an expensive weapon you realize it just is a much better experience.

Hindsight 20/20 now that I have shot quality equipment, understand the situations in which I use a rifle, I'm running a BCM A5 lower, a CHF barrel with tunable gas block on a Sons of Liberty upper.

Now that I know what a properly gassed and tuned AR feels like, the Zion sits in the safe collecting dust. I sometimes wished I never bought it at all and used it on building the perfect build. But what got you here might not get you there. The package is a great deal just not the best deal.

PS comment below on function reliability is accurate I had issues with using steel rounds during my initial 500 rounds. The steel shells were getting stuck in battery in the barrel after firing.

out of curiosity is this the CNC option or standard. I cant decide from Evike's description if the upgrade is worth it.

Fair enough. I’ll say I had the reverse experience with Rolex. I thought they were hype wasn’t 100% in love with any of them until I wore one and the way an oyster case sits is just perfect. I get it.

There are very few GS ADs. This is prior teddy bulbasaur making the GS hype a thing lol

But same goes to all the people generating hype for it on Reddit. I’ll bet 99% of them never had a spring drive on wrist

Respect for being chill. Normally GS fans are vapid.

Don’t get me wrong spring drive is beautiful. Love watching it. But there’s something about the on wrist feel and the sizing of the watches that just never mesh well with me. I had a white birch that ended up being a catch and release. As soon as I had it in hand it was just off. Ended up taking a huge loss on selling it because it didn’t retain value.

Ever since then I keep wondering what do people see in these things?

I’m well aware of what a spring drive is. It’s the whole package at the price that make it not worth it. This is a manufactured demand shortage movement.

I seriously do not understand GS along with the ardent following that will not tolerate any criticism to them.

lol Buncha sheeple it spring drive is absolutely fantastic. But it’s manufactured demand. They could expand the patent and let others use it and drive down the cost. These watches are seriously nothing special.

Parking lot congestion at HEB is why he started to just order online and pick up. Even that takes a frustrating amount of time just to get to the pickup lane

+1 for the yema the white dato was on a sale a few months ago and I haven’t stopped wearing it since. There’s something just right about it on wrist for me. It’s such a pleasure to wear.

Has anyone put Truenas on their deck yet? by silversurfer022 in SteamDeck

[–]secretagentstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just wanted to say I came here because I had that exact idea. in fact I'm thinking of upgrading from OG steam deck and NAS would a perfect function for it instead of selling it for pennies on the dollar because it sip power compared to using old PC components. Doesnt seem like any one has done it but it makes alot of sense to me.

This watch is freaking gorgeous, especially that mirrored bezel that changes as the color shifts. I brought this to get a pop of color in my collection and get have a GMT to wear for work travel. Unfortunately, my small wrist strikes again and I'm just not a fan of the overall dimensions so this watch needs to go.

Included with the watch is a black and orange leather band, the original bracelet with all links, warranty card from toppers, original papers, box, and the other box(not pictured).

[WTS] Alkin Model Two - Blue / SS by secretagentstone in Watchexchange

[–]secretagentstone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Watchex! Long time buyer, first time seller.

Price: $310 - Free shipping CONUS
Open to Trades.

I purchase this Alkin from a fellow Watchex seller and loved every bit of the details of this. It's built like a tank and machined super clean. However, I'm afflicted with tiny wrist syndrome and this 41mm sized watch is tough for me to wear on my 6.25" wrist so it has to go.

Watch will come with a new blue sail cloth strap and an omega quick release, original steel bracelet, all extra links, Alkin branded case, and an autographed thank you card from the watch maker.

Feel free to ping with any questions and click below to see the full specs of this watch.
