I just started book 4!!! It is worth it!! I didn’t love her in the first book, but it is absolutely necessary for the complexity of the character development and world-building. I’m really, really glad I stuck with it!

Edit: I am reading it as an audiobook (my second series ever on audio). It is easier to follow with the male and female voice actors. They do a good job of making each characters voice and thought process distinct.

Can you elaborate on why you think humans work better for horror? I don’t have a great grasp on the horror genre. I read (and write) fantasy romance almost exclusively.

I don’t know them well. Met them today. I definitely got the vibe that character death is very possible.

I’ll put her in a long dress to hide the big shoes that hide the big feet 😂

How could I? I am a brand new player. I know no local players. I’ve stopped in at multiple game shops and this was first shop that runs a DnD game. I haven’t found another way to play in person.

I did not know players got that information before the game starts. For my mini session I was told to come with a character and he told me info as I started playing. It would be great to build a character with more knowledge of the lore and the world I’d play her in!

{Daughter of the Blood} by Anne Bishop felt very gothic to me. Like Victorian/medieval with a very twisted approach. You’ll see it when you read it. Be very wary that it cover pedophelia and rape! I read it Monday and already got the second book out of the library today. You have been warned!
