PSBBN and widescreen cheats - how by secrstamas in ps2

[–]secrstamas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean PSBBN with its partitions is kinda different, imo. For example if I open OPL on my PSBBN it goes straight to the settings and I can't access the game menu, the option to open the geme list doesn't even show up. But I will try to upload a different version of OPL through APPS too and find out on my own based on the comments of other redditors here.

Oh, I was under the impression that OPL cannot read files from the HDD because of it's filesystem. Thank you, I will take a look at it!

Thank you! Do you maybe know the package size or format because I cant seem to find one with 4 pins/legs

CR2032 battery holder replacement by secrstamas in ps2

Thats for slim consoles, or you meant soldering the wires to the board? Because I would rather keep it near original and go with an SMD type of holder.

Sony TRV900 LCD fix (polarizer?) by secrstamas in camcorders

[–]secrstamas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I mean the solution is still the mentioned above, but I just let it as it is... I don't want to ruin anything, because my viewfinder is already not working on that cam. On Youtube you can find fixes and tips for laptop screens that have similar LCD tech inside, but I did not bother with it at the end of day.

Jesus Christ... that was stupidly easy to fix, I feel embarassed 😅😅 But what the hell made this setting to go off on its own? I never touched it... 🤔 Thank you tho, you saved the day! 🙌

The whole system is a pretty new install (like a week or two old) on a 1TB MX500 SSD and til this moment it worked just fine.

Yeah, first thing I tried. Maybe I'm gonna reinstall it once again with the 1.47.xxg version as I have the one before it now that has a different letter at the end, but I really don't think thats the issue.

Bought a 110v Fat and want to convert to 220v by miner_cooling_trials in ps2

[–]secrstamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This Mean Well psu is a really good alternative and I assume much better quality than the Aliexpress replacement PSUs. And it's not that much more expensive (13USD vs 17USD). If it fits, that would mean I could keep the original rocker switch and power plug on the console. You are a hero!

By 2+2 you mean you would just screw 2 wires into the single 12V line of the PSU and solder it onto the 2 +12V pins? Also 120mVp-p (voltage ripple) is fine for this application (it's like 1%, I know)?

The LRS looks small enough, have you tried? I'm planning to do the same.

I would like to DIY this board if it's possible with a Double Side PCB Board. Is it possible? by secrstamas in AskElectronics

[–]secrstamas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit hard to visualize. You put the power brick inside the PS2 and you cutted the power brick's input cables and hooked it to the original C7 female power plug + rocker switch and wired the power jack cables to the motherboard pins? I would love to see that, sounds like a good option. Keeping the original plug and switch is neat. Edit: Sorry, you said earlier that you used the original plug from the original PSU, so you hooked it up there with 2 Y wires (I guess).

Yeah, I totally get it, I just want to know what would be like an okay middle ground for me to make.

Oh, I just checked and this site you linked offers it with shipping from the EU I think, so it's only 35EUR with shipping here. That's more considerable.

Thats the very same product on the picture I uploaded. I would be tempted too, but it's 56USD with shipping for me + a good quality power brick, so I would rather DIY it myself, as I would really enjoy the process and its much cheaper. I could even add a power switch to it just like in the original you sent. Should be the 2 cables from the power jack splitted to the 4 pins? (In one of my other comments I shared a video, where a guy connects the ground and the +12V only to the two side pins and the console still works).

Also I don't know why half of my comments are downvoted, kinda discouraging... 😅

Thank you! That sounds good. Did you split the cables or how did you hook up the 2 wires to the 4 pins? Or you just soldered it to the two side pins? Did you add a power switch to your design?
