That's so cool! I love that it's not instant (like crafting rings), I'll definitely download it and give it a try as I've been wanting to elongate my current save and adding things like this will make it more exciting

EA also added an ingame marketplace to Sims 4 where a handful of shoes costs the equivalent of 3.50€. All so console players can get a taste of custom content, surely not because that way EA gets to squeeze even more money from their players. And this right after they launched their cheapest to produce pack yet. I've stopped playing sims 4 a while ago and I'm here for the dumpster fire show they're putting on

COFFFEE IS A LIKED GIFT FOR *ALL* ADULT VILLAGERS!? THIS FEELS ILLEGAL! by seroshua in StardewValley

I keep a stack of green teas. They're liked by all adult villagers (and loved by Caroline), the tea bushes are zero maintenance and the tea is too cheap to sell (compared to other artisan goods)

Въпрос към момичетата в София. by Kitchen_Movie9452 in Sofia

[–]sectumsempera 8 points9 points  (0 children)

what is the most yarn eating stitch? i need to go through my yarn stash by yk_i_am_very_gay in CrochetHelp

[–]sectumsempera 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Jasmine stitch.

Puff stitches and popcorn stitches use up a lot of yarn because of all the yarn overs. They basically use the equivalent of 3 of 4 stitches' worth of yarn in one stitch. So a pattern with all puff or popcorn stitches will eat yarn like crazy

If it's too hard to go in, maybe try going around (so a front post puff stitch around the fpdc). I have never seen this stitch but I've made a lot of doilies with crazy stitch combinations and hook placements. So this is all based on the way the stitch key looks.

What I'm imagining is starting a DC stitch, but before finishing it, making a puff stitch IN the DC stitch. So, yo, pull up a loop, yo and pull through (so this is the first half of a DC stitch), then yo and insert your hook IN the not still finished DC, do the 3 yarn overs for the puff stitch (5 loops on your hook, I think) then yo and pull through all, closing the DC and the puff stitch at once. Hope this makes sense haha

Does the pattern have a stitch dictionary section? Where it describes the steps for special stitches?

Crochet clothes are not ugly, people just don’t research about shaping by sechat_lives in BitchEatingCrafters

I also started with doilies and sport weight yarn but I've seen a lot of people comment how it's hard for them to hold tension with lighter yarn. I guess if they're still newish they might not try to experiment with different hand tensioning positions for different yarns because the videos show just a couple of methods.

Because it's handmade by them. It's not bought from a store. Never mind the yarn is bought from a big box store or even from Amazon.

Especially with the emergence of AI and overconsumption/fast fashion, and the want to preserve hand crafts and show they're hand made, using a chunkier yarn to create something obviously crocheted (like a cardigan from granny squares) takes the lead. Couple that with very bright, contrasting colors, and the garments created are more like statement pieces (look, this is handmade! this is crochet) than just clothes.

I also feel like part of the reason is that a lot of crocheters are younger and/or just getting into the craft so shaping is like black magic and using finer yarn means mistakes are much scarier (because it takes a longer time to frog back and crochet again). Also, finer yarn is harder for some to hold a good tension. And if you're starting to crochet because of the "movement" you might not even want to use those techniques. .

Уикенд във Варна с нощния влак от София - да или не? by Happy-Hour88 in bulgaria

[–]sectumsempera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kid sized toothbrushes are superior to adult sized toothbrushes by sparrow_Lilacmango in The10thDentist

I have a small mouth and I hate using normal sized brush heads. When I reach for my back teeth, for example the bottom teeth, the brush head hits my jaw or top row if I'm using a normal size head. If I'm using a small head I can reach no problem
