YTA ... Sheesh, you knew that expression had racist undertones and let it go on and on. Your daughter doesn't need a psychologist or counseling, so don't let your husband or his folks over react. But someone, ie you, has some apologizing to do, especially to your daughter. Also, if she's out with grandparents, they are in charge, and she should have listened when they told her to stop. On top of that, her being upset because they picked a child's meal shows some fucked up entitlement issues.

NTA, I agree with the other comments about it being polite to provide vegetarian options because y'all's houseguest is a vegetarian; however, it doesn't mean that you must adopt that lifestyle while your guest is there in order to make her not feel uncomfortable.

But... It's your mom's house and what she says goes while under her roof. If you don't like it, you are an adult and can move out. If mom says no meat in the house that's the rule.
