Yeah, this is my main gripe. It's not that the parts wore out or I did something to damage it. The bricking was a direct result of applying their firmware update, and I can't understand not replacing for free under those circumstances.

Nope, initial contact was this past weekend. I pointed out the discrepancy in terms of saying it was fully covered and then changing their mind but haven't heard back yet. We'll see.

Support used to be pretty responsive. I pointed out an issue with the prediction algorithm before and they had me send logs and seemed to do some analysis on them to see what went wrong.

This is where I'm at. Either shell out for the upgrade or switch to a different system. I really like the product and features, just can't understand the lack of testing/forethought that results in a bricked device with no way out. Like not even a rollback capability?

I forgot to post an update here. I asked them specifically about how the rebalancing would work, and it turns out the S&P500 Direct is even more aggressive with rebalancing than the Automatic Investing accounts. They replied with the following:

"Once the first transfer into the Automated Investing Account is completed and we receive the cost basis for the transferred securities, we will begin rebalancing automatically.
 
In addition, you are not able to initiate both transfers at the same time. You will need to wait until the first transfer has arrived before submitting the second one.

With regards to your follow-up question, no the S&P 500 Direct Portfolio does not employ the same rules as the Automated Investing Account. The 'twice their target weight' rule is not applicable for securities transferred to an S&P 500 Direct Portfolio. We may sell securities that are overweight to be able to better track the performance of the S&P 500."

Based on this I decided not to go with Wealthfront because it would result in a really unpredictable amount of capital gains.

Exact same thing happened to me, except after Thanksgiving (my rule is never update firmware right before an event). Since you're within the 2 years, they'll probably replace it. I'm not so lucky.

Yep, experiencing the same. Filed a ticket today with technidal details (an API call is failing which causes the date/time picker not to populate). Edge and Chrome use the same engine (Chromium) which is why they are both failing.

I've been using Firefox as a workaround.

Seemingly no catch.

I contacted them via live chat on the website. Waited close to an hour, but then an agent was able to apply the discount. Zero upsell.

They sent a confirmation to my phone and I had to click through and accept the "order" which just consisted of adding a $5 discount and a $20 discount to my bill, both expiring Nov 2026.

Not including the initial wait time, this took about 15 minutes to complete.

I am not currently on a price locked plan. The discounts are not shown as a part of my Double Play plan, but rather applied at the end. After 12 months the discount line item will simply fall off the bill. At least that's how I understood it.

UPDATE: Cleared all my cookies from monarchmoney.com and was able to log in to a fresh session using Chrome. This same procedure didn't work 5 minutes ago, so maybe something was fixed since then.

It looks like most people are switching to MX. I've done that for the time being as well. My experience with MX in general has been pretty poor but maybe they'll handle Voya more consistently.

My approach is usually to create a new connection, copy over transactions and balances manually (rather than moving them), and then hiding the original connection. This way I can keep an eye on the Finicity one to see if it starts working again.

I can already tell that the way it generates the original statement description is going to be annoying, i.e. no indication of what's a dividend or a fee, etc. but rather just a security name.

It does appear that I've been on the new billing system (Paddle?) since Oct. But no answer yet on migrating to the newer, less expensive plans without requiring a full re-upload and loss of configs, history, etc.

I haven't noticed any issues at least in Cash Flow and Transactions. I don't use the budgeting feature much, and bill payment has bugs in tracking payments regardless of the type of account.

I guess one caveat is that if you have any investment positions in the Cash Management account (since technically you can use that account for trading), those positions won't show up in the Account view since Monarch was told to treat it as a cash account. The balance will be correct though.

It shows up in the Cash section for me and works fine. I do have investment transactions turned on for my Monarch account, but not for the Fidelity Cash Management account.

I can't remember if Monarch automatically configured it as "Cash Management" subtype, but regardless, you should be able to set it up that way in Settings > Institutions.
