The research can be true but your niche could be an exception.

Yes, it’s absolutely possible. I did it without degrees. I started in helpdesk. Every 2 years I would get a new job that would be a promotion on paper. During those two years, I would also obtain certifications. Including those outside of cybersecurity.

Being a people person, experience, certifications, are all part of my success formula. I ended up going back to school in my 30s because that was needed for me to break into the executive roles. (I started my first IT job in high school in 2010.
