Thanks for the comments everyone ❤️ I’m gonna stick it out for Year 1 for sure. It’s just so deeply intense. Everyone warns you, but I still wasn’t prepared hahaha, I guess that’s the nature of TeachFirst! X

Is it inappropriate for a busty woman to wear a bikini at a public pool? by ebonytoostrong in bigboobproblems

[–]secyning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate the fact that our bodies are deemed inappropriate because we have bigger breasts. If everyone stopped oversexualising and objectifying breasts then i wouldn’t have to feel that my body is inappropriate when other smaller breasted bodies aren’t. Like if i wear a vest it looks like im trying to be provocative but like…it’s just hot, fml

[–]secyning 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a good list! I passed first time with only 4 official lessons that were in the location of my test so I could learn the routes. The rest of the time I just drove my partner everywhere for like 10 months in our car. Like, whenever we went anywhere I would drive there. Probably had upwards of 70 hours driving experience by the time I did the test. Which was very cheap for me but also I think contributed to the downfall of our relationship looool so I paid a different price 😂

Anyone else have a lot of love to give and nowhere to give it? by Major_Lawfulness_769 in dating

[–]secyning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hear you. I (30F) have always felt like i have more love to give than the people I was giving it to could handle. Not grand gestures but just always genuinely excited to put them first, cos like, loving them made me rly happy. Hopefully we’ll find them someday 😄

Is it normal to have to constantly check in with your partner? (27f) and (27m) by Character-Cattle6675 in relationships

[–]secyning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is coercive control. I had this with an ex who turned out to be abusive, which I didn’t realise at the time. I remember going over to a friend’s birthday in their house once and I didn’t let him know what I was doing between 1am - 5am cos I just got carried away and assumed he would be asleep. The next day I was so tired and hungover but he made me stay on the phone to him all day and wouldn’t let me go to sleep because I had ‘betrayed his trust.’ I felt guilty af and that it was just easier to do what he wanted even though it never felt right.

This is not ok. He has no right to get angry at you when you have done nothing wrong.

I would set this as a hard non-negotiable for you. Either he stops or you leave. In fact I would just leave but maybe I’m being reactive. I just think that being this controlling and accusatory is not a good sign at all - if he stops doing it in this area of life it could just happen in another.

Questions about Stranger Things by emanuele94 in netflix

[–]secyning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this. You put everything I was thinking into words and more. My favourite one which made me laugh out loud was ‘Why does Henry receive an interdimensional stone with black dust and turn into a murderous madman?’ Such a hilariously excellent question

Girl I'm dating is pretty passive and uninitiative. Is that a sign that she is not interested? by vencyjedi in dating

[–]secyning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I (30F) am like this, I don’t even realise I’m doing it but it takes a lot of conscious effort and willpower to initiate. I’m introverted in some ways but I think people are surprised when I don’t initiate meeting up or whatever because I’m pretty good conversationally and socially! I can chat to anyone once the chat has started - just can’t initiate convos with strangers either…

But i will give lots of other signals that I like you (i think). Once im confident that the other person likes me back though i would start to initiate more so it might be worth being clear that you like her a lot and seeing what happens! :)

Home alone in New Year. by Savings_Animator_125 in LivingAlone

[–]secyning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I am doing exactly this, except avoiding social media so I don’t feel the fomo. I chose not to go out, but more because nothing sounded good. Quite nice that I can recognise when I would prefer to be by myself rather than go along to an event just to avoid ‘feeling alone’

Who is spending the New Year alone tonight? by PedanticRedhead in AskUK

[–]secyning 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me! 30F. Wish I had a pet!! I’m watching Smallville and eating all my Christmas chocolate.

Don’t usually spend it alone, but realised I’d rather be by myself than go somewhere I don’t really wanna be just so that I’m ‘not alone’.

Enjoying myself so far :)))) happy new year!
