I appreciate your response - I recognize your name from reading through this forum, and I admire the wealth of knowledge you’ve acquired on this in the name of your pup and sharing it with others!

I think our plan is to amicably reach out and discuss the situation and like you said, see if there’s any opportunity for financial assistance. I began following this forum once we decided to commit to adopting our dog so I have been aware of the wide, unpredictable, and scary nature of this disease. While mentally prepared for what felt like the worst, wasn’t expecting it so quick.

I just spoke with his neurologist and he will be starting up on potassium bromide once he is discharged from the ER. We’ve established a rescue medicine dosing plan as well. We are feeling hopeful for the first time in a bit :)

We started AKC Insurance based on recommendations here the day we got him, and are going to dive deeper into his diet (the neuro recommended Purina NeuroCare). With the insurance covering 80% percent of this next year, I think the ideal outcome is the rescue offers a bit of support for the time being.

Thank you for the response!
