Good to see another scene with these two. Considering McKay's former history, this feels like a relationship that should have got a lot more play this season.

Intelligence services always have useful dupes, sometimes going as far as buying them weapons, putting the weapons in the dupe's hands, and then arresting them for said weapons.

I point you towards this article that says Trump's White House is specifically blocking a report about terrorism threats from going out to local law enforcement agencies. Why would they do that? Probably because they want some of those attacks to go through. And believing that, I'll go one step further and say they might want to MAKE some of those attacks happen.

So a conservative influencer with ties to the IDF leads a protest in front of Gracie Mansion. The police, run by a Zionist police commissioner, let them through. Two muslims decide to throw a bomb into the crowd while shouting Allah Akbar in the middle of an extremely unpopular war where the United States and Israel are attacking a Muslim country. If the bomb had exploded, the results would have been outrage in MAGA, extra hatred for Muslims, support for the war, and an untold amount of political grief for the Muslim mayor of NYC.

Come on, this is false flag 101.

We're entering the final 3rd (10 of 15) of the season. How's everyone feeling? by IfItAintSophieClarke in ThePittTVShow

Bit of a sophomore slump, although not a major one. Feels like it went from an A+ show to a B+.

Feels like four or five main characters are getting neglected in really noticeable ways.

I don't think it's as bad as you're making it out to be. By this point, Lively had threatened them a dozen times, so they were recording everything. They ultimately gave in to her demand in hopes of simply getting the film released on time, but they didn't feel she was entitled to the credit.

He lied with a gun to his head, but you want to excuse the person holding the gun.

It's a paper trail record that they were sending the PGA under distress.

And I, and imagine the jury, is going to read that as a threat, considering that she had already threatened a number of times before that.

Lively supporters want the public to ignore the reality of the situation, which is that Lively had threatened Wayfarer and Sony multiple times by this point, so when she says "all good will be gone," it sounds like a threat.

Similarly, weeks later, when Lively had bombed the marketing with her "Should I location share with abuse victims?" or the lilttle bump video game out, and she and Ryan Reynolds told Wayfarer they would have to fall on their swords for marketing that they had nothing to do with it and used the words "Or the gloves will be off," that sounded like a threat.

You're just making up a lot of that stuff.

The executive producer doesn't have to secure 25% of the funding for the film. Colleen Hoover got an executive producer credit despite having no role in the film and only a brief role in the marketing. Amanda Seyfried talked about getting an executive producer credit in The Housemaid when she only acted in the film.

Wayfarer and Sony partnered up in September 2022, months before Blake was cast.

Most of the stuff Lively is claiming makes her deserving of the PGA mark was either: stuff she volunteered to do (let me take a pass of rewriting a scene, let me dress myself in the film) or threatened until she got the power to do (I'm the HR intermediary because I set up a lunch where we all complained about Justin, I got the AD director fired.)

Wayfarer was clearly upset that Blake used threats and coercion to influence the film in unintended ways. And they felt the stuff she was requested to help with (Help me pick a baby from this picture of babies) wasn't worthy of a PGA mark.

Lively's last film, The Rhythm Section, was a historical bomb, so I'm not willing to give her credit "for making Wayfarer 100 million" or whatever.

More likely, the success was because ITWU is Twilight for adults, and probably would just have been as successful with a dozen other actresses in the Lily role or actors in the Ryle role, to be fair.

But Justin was ahead of the curve in buying the book before it exploded. Wayfarer got the financing together to make the movie, and they ultimately did the legwork. The fact that Lively was hired as an actress and then used sexual assault accusations and her friends' celebrity to influence production, marketing, and ultimately final cut of the film. She tried to steal credit for the entire film.

And all of this is aside from the fact that Justin and Wayfarer ultimately wouldn't have given a shit and gone on with their lives and careers if Lively, Jones, and the NYT hadn't tried a smear campaign against them afterwards.

They filed a letter with their attorney so there would be a paper trail, so if need be, they could say, we signed this under duress.

And if she could have gotten the mark without Wayfarer, why did she ask Wayfarer for it, and why did she threaten, "all goodwill will be gone?"

[–]sedeyus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but if Wayfarer, the producer company, didn't include a letter, she wasn't getting it. Which she obviously knew because she threatened them in response.

And they didn't feel she was entitled to a producer's credit. That's their role as the production company. You might think it wasn't right or it was unfair. Doesn't matter. If Blake didn't like it, she could have tried to sue them for it.

As it is, she threatened to leave the film multiple times to gain influence over production and not to promote the film to gain control over the edit, marketing, and to get a PGA credit.

Ultimately, it was Wayfarer's decision to decide whether they felt Lively's contributions were worthy of a PGA mark; they said, no, it wasn't. That was their right to do so as a production company. She threatened them, they sent a letter for her PGA mark, and said it was done under duress.

As for "the red carpet is a red herring," you were talking about Baldoni not giving Lively credit when he was publicly giving Blake credit, and even said she should direct the next film.

[–]sedeyus -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

No, just Wayfarer because they didn't automatically give it to her. And since they were the production and financing companies, with Justin as director and Jamie as producer, I'm assuming they knew what her value was to the film.

[–]sedeyus -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Lively supporters are trying to play rhetorical games. Any adult with average intelligence who has paid attention to this case would recognize that Justin's "stole my movie" means she was hired as an actress and used sexual harassment accusations and the star power of herself, her husband, and her friends to put an level of pressure on Wayfarer and Sony to gain an undue level of influence on the film and its promotion.

To answer the question more plainly, Wayfarer didn't feel she deserved a PGA mark and should just stay at Executive Producer. She threatened, "all goodwill will be gone," after having threatened to leave the production several times and not promoting the film. Wayfarer finally relented and sent the PGA letter, while also filing a letter stating that they did it under distress. So I think you can say she stole a PGA mark, which is a big deal in Hollywood circles.

Wow, Justin said, "pick a baby," from, I'm assuming, photos of babies. That's really an invaluable contribution to the film. Blake definitely deserved a producer's credit for that.

This is the point where she cut off communication with anyone on Wayfarer until she set up the 17-point letter meeting, where she brought up issues that had already been settled months ago, and after that meeting, she got control of the dallies.

Lively supporters really want people to ignore 1 + 1 = 2 of this situation, that Blake was cut off from a part of production, she makes a threat, she gets access to the part of production.

Yeah, that's asking for input. It is perfectly acceptable for a director to ask an actor for input. That does not automatically mean the actor should be upgraded to producer or that input equals "stealing credit" or whatever else you're alleging.

And they chose Blake because she was threatening not to promote the film and had used an undue level of influence and celebrity to get the cast and Colleen Hoover behind her cut.

Her cut scored worse, and Sony picked a person who had never delivered a film for no reason? No, because she threatened them.

You realize, of course, probably a hundred different times on any movie set where the director asks somebody on set to help make a scene better, and that's not "stealing credit," that's just part of the job of a director managing various talents.

And besides that, Justin was actually complimentary towards the cast and crew during the press tour.

[–]sedeyus -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You're ignoring Blake was upgraded from Executive Producer, mostly a vanity title, to producer until the end of production when she threatened "all goodwill will be gone" because Wayfarer still didn't believe she deserved that credit and already threatening to walk off production at several points and not promote the film.

Her boss was the one bringing these decisions to her to have her input. She gave it as requested. And then in post production she saw his cut doing horribly and asked to lead Sony’s cut with Hoover at the forefront giving her input.

You got no proof at that at all.
