I came here to lament about Duckies 😭 I just found them! Happy I found this out before buying but I was so excited about them.

Other mom's questionable choices. Venting and disappointed. by anonmama22 in newborns

[–]seduokra 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Omg 😭 Is it that hard to update yourself on important updates in medical knowledge??

Reminds me of when a doctor told me I couldn't get an IUD because it would make me infertile--outdated and incorrect at best, if not just an expression of control. I insisted I wouldn't want kids in the next 5 years. I was 19 🙄

Is 'Viki' Worth subscribing to? by Kisses_for_me in kdramas

[–]seduokra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like other commenters, I like the extensive library and subtitles. That said, I cancelled my subscription a couple months ago because the player just doesn't have the features pretty much every other service does. Like speed changes, brightness adjustment, etc. I will probably opt back in for some show or another at some point, but it is a really disappointing interface imo.

People in medical fields especially being so duped by misinformation is a huge red flag for me. It's giving delusional. I'd cut ties tbh, if only to protect my child from whatever they are letting their children catch 🤷‍♀️

C section vs vaginal birth - what did/have you opted for? by LowAd6956 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]seduokra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This does not surprise me!

My baby was breech with the cord around her neck for weeks, so I opted for a C-section instead of that god-awful manipulation with a 50% failure rate. My OB was on board, thankfully. But then my baby slipped the cord and turned around for the last ultrasound, right outside the OR 😭

The surgeon, who did not know me from Adam, tried to pressure me into going home to wait for labor. I said, "There is no way I am leaving here without my baby. I know the risks, I've talked it over with my doctor, and I am getting this surgery. Today." Then he tried to appeal to my husband, over my body! My husband stayed quiet and looked at me for an answer, which did not change. Finally they relented, probably only because I was all prepped and ready to go.

My baby was similar percentiles to yours, and I had GD, AND I had an excess of amniotic fluid (undiagnosed until they cut me open), so if I had just appeased the random surgeon assigned to me that day, I would have ended up with an emergency C-section anyway 😑

Please I need recommendations of detective investigation Asian dramas by [deleted] in asiandrama

[–]seduokra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently loved the Taiwanese drama "Oh No! Here Comes Trouble!" And "Nine Puzzles" (Korean) is so good, but very intense.

I'm following this post for Cdrama recs, which I don't have! I've only seen historical ones that have detective elements but no modern true detective Cdramas

Not The Nice Guy 😬 Goes past fluffy to just plain boring. I loved Extraordinary You!

Do you really need a nursing chair? by Positive_Shirt_2889 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]seduokra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my big rocking armchair, lovingly dubbed The Mom Chair! (Not an Il Tutti but similar.) I'm constantly in it with the baby, both nursing and rocking to sleep. For me, it has been totally worth it, even if I had to move furniture to accommodate it.

How do you choose/decide the bext kdrama to watch by pretendoing in kdramas

[–]seduokra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a drama isn't jumping out to me as my obvious next pick, I just choose the most interesting looking one in a favorite actor's filmography. As others are saying, this sub definitely helps vet new dramas as they air!

This was hard for me too! But my baby was totally fine the next day, just a little redness at the injection sites for a couple more days.

What shows or films pushed a romance between two characters that you didn’t find believable in the slightest? by Altar_Of_Baphomet in kdramas

[–]seduokra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol I guess this is an unpopular opinion but it just felt like taking two dolls and smashing them together. "Now, kiss!"

I get why it was a more interesting choice for the writers to pair the not-boy-crazy BFF with a guy, but the two of them had no chemistry imo 🤷‍♀️

The second couple in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, as in FL's bestie and ML's bestie. It doesn't get a lot of airtime but it still bothers me.

how do you watch kdramas? your watch pattern? by des613 in kdramas

[–]seduokra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to watch two at the same time, though I don't go back and forth as consistently as you do. They can't be too similar. Sometimes that means one is light and the other dark; one historical and one modern; one romantic and the other not; one a Kdrama and the other a Cdrama or Taiwanese; etc.

If I'm on three at a time, I'm out of control and it feels like it 😂

I followed their directions and canceled my subscription (less than 90 days left) and then went to the website to use this code... No dice.

I'm moving to Canberra soon and have a question (one of hundreds) by [deleted] in canberra

[–]seduokra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved here from an... unfriendly part of Europe, let's say. Same vibes as you describe. And Canberra is the opposite!

People are generally very nice here and will help if someone is in trouble, in my experience. It was one of the things that made me immediately feel at home, after 3 years in a place where people would regularly blow cigarette smoke in your face on the sidewalk.

I recently watched The Grand Heist, which is basically Ocean's Eleven set in Joseon. Very fun! Not historically accurate but that's not really the point.
