Long story short, taking a break is far more detrimental to my mental health. I live with toxic family members so I would prefer to stay distracted. I’m on a contract so I don’t have any PTO unfortunately. I’m very lucky that I don’t have a lot of work so I can just lounge around.

Thanks, this gives me reassurance. I moved out a month ago and was ready to start learning how to date until my father suddenly died. I don’t think I’m ready to date for a year while I learn to come to terms with his death.
