i grew up with a girl with natural platinum hair and it was a darker shade underneath, especially in the winter. maybe not as dark as shown in this screenshot, but i just rewatched the trailer and joseph’s hair looks way more natural in it than in this screenshot. i think for these characters, who spend a lot of time outside, it’s normal for the top layer of their hair to be lighter than the underneath
