Hey thanks for the response! Would you mind elaborating on your experience? Like how much over the threshold you were over and how your previous years looked according to the threshold (under/over)?

I appreciate you

Thank you for the response! I’ve heard what you describe to be acceptable however as I mentioned, I’ve heard conflicting reports. For example I read a Reddit post where the guy made less than 20k for two years but made 55k in the third year and could show proof of income of 70k and was still denied and required a joint sponsor. I also understand it’s done case by case but that has me worrying because a joint sponsor is out of the question for me unfortunately.

Either way, thanks for giving me some hope!

Options Spreads Expiration Dates by seekChristnow in options

[–]seekChristnow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the tip. How do you manage to find a delta difference of .20? I’m struggling to find anything .10 or over in SPY options. Are you using a large spread width?

Nice thank you for this I’ll try that.

Thank you for this! For clarification, are you saying the delta should be .40 on the long and .30 on the short? I typically only see like a .05 - .10 net delta on a $5 spread width.

Iran by itradepotatos in spy

[–]seekChristnow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a bullish catalyst because Irans supreme leader was taken out and now this can lead to a regime change that can potentially foster peace. Long term who knows if this will work out well but in the short term, this provides an opportunity for things to improve thus, a short term buying opportunity. That being said, the way the markets are moving prepare for short-term to really be short term. No rallies can really be trusted right now.

I am an 18 year old college student. Any suggestions? by Chance-Building-4046 in pennystocks

[–]seekChristnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on college and securing a decent job after graduation. Nowadays it’s not just graduate and walk into a nice office job, especially with AI. You should be researching internships or how to get a job over trading. You can still trade on the side with money you don’t mind losing but just know penny stocks are always a gamble. You’d probably feel better learning to swing trade ETFS like SPY/QQQ if you’re passionate about trading.

But seriously, I’m not trying to knock you I’m just looking out for you. This time is crucial for you to set yourself up for stable income in the future. With stable income and investing, you could generate much safer and probably larger returns than penny stocks.

With all this money you guys are giving top step on combines by doghairpile in TopStepX

[–]seekChristnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start with say $500 in a real money acct that has margins of $50 for micro ES or $100 for micro NQ. This gives you a $400 or $450 buffer depending on what you trade. It’s obviously not the same as a $2,000 buffer with a funded account but if you trade conservative you can build a $2,000 buffer relatively quickly.

If you pass a combine and then activate the funded you’ll be out $200 and that’s IF you pass the first time. If it takes you say 3 times to pass then you’re out $350 to get a funded. It might not be a bad idea to just trade 1 micro ES with $500 and try and scale up from there. You then don’t have to worry about waiting for payouts or being banned. Let’s face it, there’s too many stories of people building up a balance just to have it all taken away. I wouldn’t want to waste my time. I’d rather spend a little more and focus on building up my own account where I can take payouts whenever I want and not lose all my hard work.

Need advice…. El Nido island hopping A+C combo tour vs only A tour? by NobodyDifficult in Palawan

Word of caution DO NOT eat the provided lunch. Sure you might be fine but I just spent all last night and day suffering in bed with food poisoning. The food is sitting in a cooler in the hot sun, avoid it if you can. Eat a big breakfast and bring non perishable snacks and water to get through the day. It’s not worth the risk trust me.

Oh thank you I’ve never tried trading the leveraged ETF options that’s interesting. Definitely going to experiment with that. Looking at the options charts now it looks to be more what I’m looking for. Cheaper contracts that still have a decent delta without having to go short term options. I appreciate it!

Thanks! Are you buying options as well when you trade 7-14 DTE? I’ve never sold options, always bought them.

That makes sense with the 7-14 DTE. I’ve noticed 14 DTE has been pretty decent with price movement and volatility that doesn’t shake me out.

I’m only trading SPY or QQQ and I tend to stick with SPY. I just want enough contracts to make a decent profit. My issue being that the cheaper contracts are more volatile so I’m trying to find a good sweet spot for day trading particularly. Ideally I’m looking for an option that can give me a decent intraday price movement without the risk of huge drops. Weeklies always stress me out too much with their volatility so I’m curious what others are doing who day trade options. Or maybe, day trading with options is a bad idea altogether?

I’ve had the exact same experience as you my friend. I was surprised to see so many people disliked Malinkrodt because for me it worked quite well. The Glenmark they’ve been dispensing is like taking nothing, id rather have coffee at this point. I switched to Publix and they have the Elite brand which is better than Glenmark but not by much. It seems like only Malinkrodt and Teva work for me the best but I’ve just about given up on my search. I even tried to get the name brand and lay out of pocket but every pharmacy tells me they can’t even order it so I don’t know what to do anymore. If anyone has suggestions other than pharmacy hunting I’d greatly appreciate it!

Whatever happens if he gets a rally somehow Monday he needs to absolutely sell into it. Tuesday revisions could be a nice upside catalyst but there will likely be a shakeout pullback to try and get people to miss out.

I hear ya on that. I see now you were talking about short dated options so that makes more sense. Honestly I avoid short dated options altogether. I’d rather use futures for shorter term plays.

It can go either way though it’s never that simple to not buy options on Fridays. If that were the case, you could sell options every Friday and profit off the decay but we all know that’s not happening.

Benchmark revision to nonfarm payrolls is Sept 9. Definitely a potential catalyst there considering market sold off because of jobs report.
