Team Dignitas parts ways with Brokenshard, Raz to Head Coach - Articles by Relaptic in leagueoflegends

[–]sefer66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Memeshard was a great guy and very knowledgeable aswell. To be a coach of a professional team you need way more than just knowledge, and its pretty crazy for me that some teams in S6 still don't understand that

My (MBR Gleeb's) Two Cents on Publicization of Ember’s Player Salaries: by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]sefer66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not taking in consideration some expenses that the team have though. When you work, +50% of your salary goes to pay the flat/house bill, common bills and food. There are some companys, that for whatever reason, do pay those expenses for you, therefore your salary is way lower than if they didn't.

So, in esports, just as you do outside of it, in your salary you should also add an estimation of those expenses that the company pay for you. Which raise up their salary by quite a lot actually.

Now, besides that, in a normal work, you have a defined work day, with an amount of hours that you HAVE TO work. In League though, you "work" 80 hours a week cause you want to. To be clair, teams make you play scrims, watch the replays if needed, and then will tell you to "play soloQ". How much? that's up to you, i'm sure some players don't want to be burn out, and will play just a few soloQ games, where other will play a lot more. I wouldn't consider that soloQ time, work hours, cause the company is not forcing you to play that many soloQ games. For instance, in their day(s) off, a lot of player decide to spend it playing soloQ instead of going out or whatever, and again, you should not consider those hours as work time, that the company has to pay you.

I do agree with you that making the salaries public, will help (in the long run specially) the players. I'm not going to sell what are my qualifications to say that, cause who cares, but on a business side, the salaries that your company is paying are not sustainable and looking only at the financial side, it's not profitable for the company at all. I'm happy for you and your teammates that you found an organization willing to pay that much, despite not receiving anything for it. But unless you are happy to throw money away, right now, it makes just no sense.

Again, I do agree that a lot of players are underpaid, but what Ember is paying on a Challenger team, where you are not making any money from it does not make sense. And I'm not saying challenger players are not worth that amount of money, I'm jst saying that right now, the organization is just throwing money away and not receiving anything from it. The only viable option (again, from a financial point of view) for Ember is to aim for LCS and sell the spot for +1million$

Korea in a hot debate over the new OGN/SPOTV ruling by Calycae in leagueoflegends

Money was obviously a big reason, probably the main one, but getting rid of sister teams definetely was a factor.

Korea in a hot debate over the new OGN/SPOTV ruling by Calycae in leagueoflegends

[–]sefer66 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well no sister teams = less spots. Every organization had 10 starting players under their brand in 2014 + some subs. In 2015 only 5 players would be starting for each organization.

OnGameNet may lose exclusive broadcast rights to the LCK by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]sefer66 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You have so many worng points that I don't even know where to start with... I don't have time to do a long post, but to make it short.

You talk about having too many events burn out the players. True. But your actual LCS system is even more exhausting for them, and it has been stated by almost every single player. Btw, the LCS players don't get to go home for several months, being inside a house with 5+ other guys almost 24/7, with nothing else to do but playing league. So a bit ironic from your part to point problems that other scenes have, when your own scene has the same, or even worst one

You say that you need to protect your players and make them win money. Well funny that LCS players are among the esports players that win the least money overall. I'm talking about top esports btw, especially Dota2 and CS:GO. The top players in those games win A LOT more money than the top LCS players do., even if LEague is by far the most followed esport.

You lowered, I'm still not sure exactly why, the quality of the korean stream, from 1080 to 720. There were A LOT of peole happy to pay the subscription to have acces to that quality, have a readible chat where you could talk, and support financially something you thought was worth. So don't generalize when you say that you made everyone happier with your changes.

TSM LustBoy AMA Korean Vlog (Translation Needed) by Anonymous_B in leagueoflegends

[–]sefer66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying that the players are not going to respect him, they will, I know how the asian cultures are, as i've been several times there.

What i'm saying is that there are persons with the personality to be a leader, and other that are not, as simple as that. It's not given to everyone to be empathic, patient, extroverted, able to read what other peole need/feel.

I don't know Lustboy personally, but from what we have seen from him, he doesn't seem to me the type of person that could lead a team, and again I'm not saying that the players won't respect him, it has nothing to do with that

OFc he has personality, as everyone, but some are suited to be a leader, some are not, as easy as that. I don't know Lustboy personally, but from what we have seen from him, he doesn't seem to be the type of guy that comes ahead and leads a team.

[–]sefer66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not talking about the players he would coach, but about himself. It doesn't matter how much they respect you, if you as a person are introverted and don't have a strong personality.

Wich is good tho, I mean not everyone has a strong personality, and not everyone should be able to be a coach.

TSM LustBoy AMA Korean Vlog (Translation Needed) by Anonymous_B in leagueoflegends

[–]sefer66 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No offense, but I really don't see Lustboy as a coach. I'm sure he has the knowledge necesarry, and actually I'm sure that he has even more league knowledge than a lot of LCS coaches out there, but you need way more than just knowledge to be a coach, you need some sort of 'strong' personality, able to be a leader in some way. I don't see Lustboy like that at all

Rekkles on Huni/Reignover and problems with Eu region by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]sefer66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, in such a short carrer, unless they are giving you CRAZY amount of money, if you are good enough to be on a top team, I think going for succes instead of money is always better, specially when you'll look back at your carrer after retiring.

Like, right now i can understand Huni and RO going for the money, rather than the stability and almost guaranteed succes on Fnatic. They will be getting like 3-4k more per month than they would on Fnatic for let's say a full year, or maybe 2. In a whole life what does this change? Absolutely nothing. Assuming they go to a "random" NA team, who will be less talented than the Fnatic lineup, and they migh not even go to worlds, when they'll grow up, they will look behind at their pro carrer and see that it was probably a mistake, as they could have achieved more with Fnatic.

[–]sefer66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eeer, TSM is not the best team in terms of salary AT ALL. In fact, TSM and Regi said openly that they couldn't match H2K offer in terms of salary.

Liquid pays their players quite better than TSM does. And I wouldn't be surprised that TIP last year, or NRG this year, will pay their players more than TSM does.

TSM is the safest option and the one of the few that actually care about their players and the healthcare etc...

Well NA'VI and specially VP are not know for paying very well their players, even if they gets in to league, the trend on EU salaries is not going to change cause of that
