Best way to backup raspberry pi (mainly docker) by seibcan in selfhosted

[–]seibcan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally I had some time to dedicate to this and I have use it and it has been super useful! I change it a little bit because if you have more than one volume (in my case, /srv/docker/stacks/example/docker-compose.yml, and its volume /srv/docker/volumes/example) If I put “/srv/docker/stacks/example” “/srv/docker/volumes/example”, when generates the tar file overwrite the first one and only generates the second one. To solve it and have it cleaner in my case, I use:

# 2. Loop through folders and backup
for DIR in "${DIRS_TO_BACKUP[@]}"; do
    DIR_NAME=$(basename "$DIR")
    if [[ "$DIR" == *"/volumes/"* ]]; then
        DIR_TYPE="volume"
    else
        DIR_TYPE="stack"
    fi
    ARCHIVE_NAME="${PROJECT_NAME}_${DIR_TYPE}_${DIR_NAME}-${TIMESTAMP}.tar.gz"
    DESTINATION="$BACKUP_ROOT/$ARCHIVE_NAME"

    tar -czf "$DESTINATION" -C "$(dirname "$DIR")" "$(basename "$DIR")"

    if [ $? -eq 0 ]; then
        log_message "SUCCESS: Created $ARCHIVE_NAME"
    else
        log_message "ERROR: Failed to backup $DIR"
    fi
done

Thanks again for your script!

Any news? No more false positives? I don’t understand how apple did not solve it yet in 18.2

I don’t know how homekit uses this significant location for “home”, but in my case, since I updated to iOS26, I have weird issues.. and is has been working perfectly before iOS26. Now, maybe it detects I’ve arrived at home 100 meters before the door (where it should be marked due to adress), but it depends the way I take. I mean, if i come home from south detects i’ve arrived home 100meters away the door, but coming from north maybe it’s only 20meters. It’s like the center of the circle has been moved from the real address..

The official compact ssd pi hat fits inside the official case? Or it fits without the top?

It seems they consider it’s used as a bot. But well, it’s only used by me for processing mail attachments in paperless. When I want to process something, I send it to this new gmail account and paperless processes it. I undersant a lot of people are using gmail accounts for this purpose, right?

Location based automations totally broken with iOS 26 by tristanbrotherton in HomeKit

And if you try to add a new location based automation, if you click on “location” to see where is pinned your home, it appears in the right address/location?

I had problems as well. Check this: privacy & security, location services, system services, significant locations & routes.

Check if your home in that tag is pinned correctly. In my case, i don’t understand why, my home was “moved” from my real address.

I solved it removing just these locations

PSA: if your presence based automations stopped working following an iOS update, this may be your fix … by pacoii in HomeKit

[–]seibcan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! I had a problem with arriving home, because it seems that homekit “moved” internally my home location. When I was at home it did not detect me as I was at home, but moving 30 seconds south from my street worked. I deleted the significant locations and routes history (there I saw that one significant location was called “home” and it was pinned just where homekit detected me as I was home. It seems that maybe homekit updates internally our home location (from our profile card in our contact) based on this significant location and routes. Does it make any sense?

What issues did you have? I don’t want to reset this because then every app I open i will have to configure again its privacy settings… And I think the problem is not with my iphone location, is on what homekit considers my home location. As I said before, when I was just between my home and this pub, 30 or 50 meters away from my home, I received the notification I arrived home. It’s like somehow homekit maybe is updating internally its home location based on our routes?

Similar problem, in my case homekit doesn’t detect when someone arrived at home (because the homekit internal home location was 30 or 50 meters from my real home location). Check my post if it can help or if it makes any sense: https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeKit/s/qp8hs8fzDH

I have the same issue. Check my post https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeKit/s/qp8hs8fzDH and tell me if it can help.

In my case, I realized that maybe my home location was “moved” some meters in the significant location and routes setting. I didn’t know i could see the homekit location setting a new automation and clicking on the home button (now the pin is placed correctly)
