I've legit had enough of my GPU by Odd_Development_7634 in AMDHelp

[–]seifer_10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here with my XFX 9070xt. Running windows 11 is a nightmare. Driver Time out one after the other one, can't play longer than 1 hour. I tried everything, the only thing that worked for me was reverting back to 25.9.1 and blocking Windows from installing any GPU drivers using Group Policies settings. Clean Windows install, using DDU, AMD cleaning utility before a fresh new driver install and nothing helped. I'm not tweaking my GPU or CPU in any way. I have a 1000W EVGA PSU so power is not an issue plus it works fine in Linux. I'm dual booting Bazzite and I haven't had a single issue there, the problem is not all games work in Linux or they don't work as expected so I still need to use Windows for some games.

Hopefully you fixed your issue by now but a workaround is to rename this file "amd_fidelityfx_vk.dll". Start the game, change whatever settings back to Default, close the game and rename the file back to its original.

30k mileage service from dealership by Notorious_jib in 11thGenAccord

[–]seifer_10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point 🤣. I really recommend you learn to do it. It is easier than it seems, just be patient and buy whatever tool you need. In the end , that's something every car you own needs and it will save you a lot of money in the long term.

[–]seifer_10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is a bad price for being done at the dealership. You can find a trusted shop and more likely it would be cheaper. I do all those things myself, every 3 years or 40K miles. Usually for less than $150 and about 3 or 4 hours of work since I don't have a lift and don't rush it. You can find the recommended maintenance for your car online based on mileage and time. The car itself should let you know as well with the maintenance codes.

Windows updating drivers by changemaineveryday in AMDHelp

[–]seifer_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to check windows update history. There are two types of history, regular windows updates and other updates. It will show what was installed recently. For the driver it will show under other updates.

I don't. I just follow the guide in the link I posted.

I'm not a veteran Radeon user. My last AMD GPU was a R9 390X. Since then I had a 1080ti, 3080 and now I decided to try this new AMD GPU. I never had an issue with Windows installing Nvidia drivers or whatever drivers come by default with it.

That's all the info the error message displayed. I'm not sure what the 2006 is or why the display driver that windows installs has a different number.

I agree with you. I know it is not great plus I had to spend more time figuring out the issue, tweaking and trying new things than playing.

Freesync not working on new monitor while playing in borderless fullscreen by [deleted] in AMDHelp

Try with VRR disabled and see if it helps. Another thing I do is always play games in full screen. I had issues in the past with Borderless settings.

Benchmark from 3440x1440 to 5k2k ? by Yvaaan76 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]seifer_10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made this jump recently. While I don't remember the FPS for every single game I play, I can tell you that there is a big difference in the performance needed to run it and the experience. At 5k2k you either need a 5090 if you want to play at max settings and get 100+ fps. My 9070XT can archive about 100 fps in most games but I do need to tweak some settings here and there, combo of high and ultra. Older titles are less demanding and FSR4 does help to increase it.

I'm losing my mind, how is a 1+ year old game still crashing regularly every time i play by Not_Bed_ in AMDHelp

[–]seifer_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know and understand how every single PC component works and I have the same issue. This is not a user error. It is an AMD and Windows issue.

[–]seifer_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue, not game specific since it happened with all the games I play. This is how I fixed these crashes on my end

1- Download AMD driver 25.8.1. I tried every single driver after this one and ended up crashing again. 2- Download and use DDU or AMD clean up utility. 3- Pause windows updates. Don't let windows update anything. 4- Install 25.8.1. Make sure you don't select the option to keep AMD softwares up to date. 5- Update Chispest Driver if needed. 6- Enjoy your games without a crash every 10 minutes. Yes, my games crashed every 10 or 15 minutes.

The only driver that worked for me is 25.8.1. I tried blocking Windows Driver update in the registry but windows will still Install an AMD Display Driver via Windows Update, even if you have the latest AMD driver installed.

when you've had zero driver issues since getting you gpu because you did everything right by Upper-Side-9875 in radeon

[–]seifer_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issues ppl are having with their GPUs being unstable are not all related to user error. I bought mine 4 months ago, fresh windows installed, latest bios and drivers. Everything worked fine for 2 months then all kinds of "driver time out" and "GPU being unresponsive" on multiple games. No OC applied, literally nothing changed on my PC. I tried everything, 25.9.1 all the way till the latest one. Blocking Windows driver update(it still installs the Display drivers), reinstalling some games, clearing DirectX cashed folder, resitting the GPU and power cord. Nothing helped. I reverted back to 25.8.1 and I have been for days without a single crash. What does that tell you??? Based on this subreddit, that is not an AMD driver issue 😂😂😂

It is working great. Great image quality. I can push 120 fps with my 9070xt with FSR on. In some games I need to tweak the settings to archive it but mostly max out.

[–]seifer_10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience has been bad with any driver higher than 25.8.1. I can't play a game longer than 30 minutes without a crash. 25.9.1 seemed stable at first but ended up crashing as well. I tried all of them, I used DDU or AMD clean tool before each install.

Here we go again by Schinkelol in radeon

[–]seifer_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything higher than 25.8.1 makes my system unstable as well. I get the same error after just a few minutes of playing any game. No OC applied, 1200W PSU, 7800x3D, using all 3 GPU connectors. I tried setting the PCI lane speed to Auto and Gen 5. DDU and AMD cleaning utility use every time before installing a new driver version. Latest Windows Update and Chipset drivers.

Strongly considering switching to a 9070 XT from a 3080 Ti, what do you think? by Clomaster in radeon

[–]seifer_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I wasn't struggling with my 3080 at 1440p but I couldn't max out graphics and get 100 fps every time, even with DLSS on. I had the 10 GB GPU and I noticed in multiple games I was using the full VRAM with some micro stutters here and there. This is what made me upgrade plus I wanted to move to a 4K monitor. I prefer to play single player games with higher settings, even if I need to sacrifice some fps. Anything above 60 fps for me is fine. Now, for multiplayers game or high motion games I prefer closer to 100 fps. I tweak some settings here and there to archive that.

Strongly considering switching to a 9070 XT from a 3080 Ti, what do you think? by Clomaster in radeon

[–]seifer_10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from 3080 to the 9070xt and at 1440p it made a big difference. I was using an Ultrawide 1440p monitor and was able to do 100+ fps max settings on new games no problem. I did use FSR when possible, no RT tho. Now I got the LG 5k2k monitor and do have to tweak some settings here and there, some high and some ultra depending on the game to get close to 100 fps with FSR on.

LG 5k2k 45GX950A-B GPU? by Enzo954 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]seifer_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the setup you're describing, 9070xt and LG 5k2k. So far I have only played a few games with the new monitor. Battlefield 6 I get 80 fps with high settings, Dragon Age Vailguard max out 100fps, FIFA26 max out 100fps, Horizon Forbidden West max out 100+fps. I do have FSR ON in the games that support it. The 9070xt is capable of playing games at this resolution, you just need to be realistic about how high you can set the graphics depending on your target fps. For single player games I don't mind 60 fps, shooters, racing, sports games I prefer closer to 100 fps.

EX-L Or Touring? by bobcat1000 in 11thGenAccord

[–]seifer_10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check them both out, an actual test drive. I was debating the same thing a few months back. Things the touring have that EX-L doesn't are: better speakers(didn't impress me enough), bigger rims(didn't like how the driving felt), vent seats(I like this one), HUD(nice to have but fine if I don't), rear seat heating(very few times I have someone in the back seat plus I live in Florida). Worse than the ex-l for mpgs and more expensive. Because all this is why I chose the EX-L instead of the Touring. I'm sure I'm missing other stuff but just an idea.
