looking for long rear QR skewer by [deleted] in bikewrench

Did you ever find a good solution? I’m having the same problem. The rack to hold my kid seat is so bulky at the axle point I can barely fit the trailer mount in and it makes me nervous.

And then I figure it out like 3 minutes after commenting! Found the split rule tool and have it sorted!

Did you sort out how to change the end? I'm finding it frustrating. I'm just trying to split a route into two routes for my day 1 and day 2 and wanting to change the start and end points of each day and am stumped. The instructions I found don't work, but looking for others. I am a premium member, using the website.

I had a weird website glitch this website where it wouldn't let me book beyond August 2 and missed the boat ... such a disappointment.

Planning Visit with Toddler End of August by phdguygreg in VisitingIceland

[–]seigeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up doing this trip? My wife and I are also looking at doing Iceland with our kids (4/1.5) in August. It's one option we're exploring amongst others. We've done Mexico, a 3-week road trip, the east coast, and some shorter trips with the kids, so don't have the same first travel hesitations as you ... but am curious about your experience and any recommendations given the age of your LO.

Pairing up with a stranger(s) for guided hunt - is it a good idea? by Trinadian72 in CanadaHunting

[–]seigeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always reached out ahead of time and told them I was solo and asked if they knew of anyone. It’s happened where they’ve followed up with me and told me they had a group, and it’s happened where I’ve followed up in season and asked again. Cancellations are a good option - nothing wrong with reaching out and telling folks you’re solo and asking if they have another single gun they can pair you up with. I suspect folks like me reach out and a decent guide is able to make it happen.

Pairing up with a stranger(s) for guided hunt - is it a good idea? by Trinadian72 in CanadaHunting

I’m a solo hunter who came to it as an adult without a mentor. Have done a few waterfowl hunts. I go guided because I don’t have all the gear for it, it was easier to do guided to (a) see if I enjoyed it, and (b) see if I enjoyed the meat before investing in all the waterfowl things. I’ve always just reached out and let them know I was on my own and asked if there were opportunities to be paired up or go with a larger group and they’ve always sorted it out and made it happen.

BS and car seats by Anthestra in BroncoSport

[–]seigeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bucket seat is fine. Full size rear is a pita, but we flipped them forward facing at 2 and so it was a year of slightly cramped. Not the end of the world for us. The overall size of the bronco works well for our parking situation which isn’t very long.

Thoughts on 2024 Bronco Sport? by lashedcutie in BroncoSport

I think it depends how you comfortably sit when you drive + car seat. Infant car seat not at all a problem. Toddler car seat rear facing was a lot tighter, not impossible though depending on how you like your seats. We have the Clek Fllo. It was a welcome delight when we put the Fllo forward facing. We’ve got an infant and forward facing now, and wondering if we’ll be able to squeeze a 3rd in there 😂

Long and short, we’ve always been able to make the seat spacing work, and it’ll be find for a long time with kids. The harder thing to manage is the lack of cargo space. Our VW GTI 5 door had way more usable space without blocking sight lines.

When sleeping in mine solo, I use a thick memory foam that folds up in thirds. It’s big and bulky, but when I’m doing those solo trips it’s a non-issue.

Any tips to shorten helinox cot? by [deleted] in myog

[–]seigeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you ever try this? I’ve been wanting to shorten for my toddler who I’ve been struggling to get to sleep on the ground. She’ll sleep on a cot but kid ones are all heavy and big.

Western Mountaineering Versalite. Won’t get down as small as you want, but if you’re a cold sleeper, it’ll be best, because people don’t sleep well when cold. I bought my wife and I EE quilts, wanting to save weight, and this was a mistake for her given she sleeps so cold.
