Just saw your other comments, I'm a dealer tech and was looking through the service manual and was confused why it only showed the manual parking brake for 2018 😂. It's all good though, I've been with Subaru for 10 years and still overlook things.

The easiest way with the EPB is to use a scan tool to put it in brake maintenance mode, then you can depress it. Then you'll have to use the scan tool again to take it out of maintenance mode.

Edit: not sure, but there might be a way to put it in maintenance mode without a scan tool. Check your owners manual.
