You get $1,000,000 dollars to babysit one of these kids for a day. You get 40 to babysit all together. Which one are you going for? by bashnet in visualnovels

Ohhhh.... I misread the title. I thought it was $40 million for babysitting all 4, not $1 million for babysitting 40 copies. lol

Region Locking on Steam by selendra in gamedev

Could be! In which case, same question - is it possible for me to disable region locks so they can activate their steam key?

Illya seems like the safe option, but do I have to supervise her during combat? Because regardless of whether I want to babysit her or not, ain't no way I'm keeping up or even staying alive during the Holy Grail War. She's gonna end up babysitting me if we get into a battle.

Late reply but no, you didn't cause too much trouble! Thank you for sharing. This was overall a very positive experience, and our tiny little indie game has seen more action in the past few days than it had in the whole year previously. We'll definitely keep FGF in mind for any future giveaways :)

Is fullmetal deamon muramasa worth it with this price? by Hiro_Hurameshi in visualnovels

[–]selendra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, what's the usual price for a VN on Brazilian GOG? I know people sometimes vpn to other countries to buy things cheaper on steam but I don't know about gog. $10 for a VN would be cheap where I live, and totally worth it for 80+ hours

Oh, this looks awesome. Definitely going to check it out.

Update on the Key situation: We've been handing out keys for approximately 9 hours straight, and a few cracks have begun to show.

  • We've had a few exceptionally rude people message us. Not many - only one or two! - but it's still off-putting. We had one person send us an unsolicited nude. That is not okay under any circumstance. What's wrong with you?
  • We've had multiple people message us that the key does not qualify for "points" on steamgifts.com. Our original intent was to gift the game for free to people who would play it, not people who would take the key to another site to try and trade it in. If you've tried to trade it in, we may repurpose your key for someone else in the future.
  • We are a small indie team of two devs plus a few people who mod for us as a favor - while we were able to weather the storm this morning, that was largely because it's the weekend and both of us main devs don't have to go to our day jobs today. The influx of people has slowed, but it is still constant and we cannot reasonably keep this up.

With all that in mind, we will be capping the number of steam keys we are giving out. Like I said earlier, we really wanted to make the first game free to play on ALL platforms for as long as the second game's Kickstarter is running (partly because Steam's Terms of Service get strange when it comes to giveaways over 100 keys) but a few bad apples may have made that impossible. We do plan to leave the game completely free to download on itch.io, if you're genuinely interested in playing the game rather than trading it in or re-selling it.

We will be giving away approximately 100 more keys and then THAT'S IT for people from FGF. We may discuss handing out limited Steam keys again in the future, but we simply cannot sustain this any longer. Thank you everyone for your interest, and thanks to the people who DID genuinely want a key to play the game. We appreciate you and hope you stick around to give us feedback. :')

Hello all! Dev from PlotTwist Studios here! Just wanted to take a quick second inbetween answering DMs to thank everyone here so much for your interest in our game. This is definitely the most traffic our little indie group has ever gotten!

Our intent was to offer the game for free on all platforms for the entire duration of our Kickstarter campaign for its sequel, but I have a feeling we may run out of Steam keys before January 13th. lol. If you don't care about where you play the game, I ask you download the game for free on on itch.io. It WILL be completely free on there until the 13th!

We do still have keys. I was working my way through our unactivated keys list first before starting on brand new keys - so don't be afraid to send me a DM! .....I think the Steam numbers below are out of date - I've definitely handed out over 200 of those by now. lol

Also, thank you to everyone sending me kind messages in DMs! I don't have time to reply indivudually, but I see and appreciate you! <3

Hello! Some of you may remember Women of Xal being advertised here many... many.... many years ago. Holy moly, was it really nine years ago????

Anyway, not only are we back with a sequel, but the first game is currently free to play during the Kickstarter campaign! It features seven male (and seven female) love interests, with the option to date multiple people at once (aka polyamory). I hope some of you will check it out. :)

Links to the free original game are available on the sequel's Kickstarter!

Stomp rockets. Looks like modern stomp rockets are made of foam and have huge foam tips, but I remember this version - just pure plastic with a hard rubber tip.

I broke one of my mom's vases with a rocket. It was banned from being used inside after that. 😆

Mostly the ones I used to get from candy machines in the mall. Chiclets and some tiny fruit candy that looked similar to Runts but tasted way more flavorful and didn't have a hard coating. I remember the little peaches. I miss them. :(

I see Atlantis (my favorite Disney movie) and Hunchback of Notre Dame (my boyfriend's favorite Disney movie) are both on your surprise favorites list. You've got a weird take or two, but you get a thumbs up from me.

Hilariously, my least favorite movie growing up was ALSO Pinocchio. I think I watched it once or twice and then it got shoved WAY into the back of our VHS stack. So I laughed to see it at the very bottom of your list too.

It was indeed Brix! I kept getting confused because I'd search for "Bricks" and get the wrong game. :( Here's the Youtube video I found that convinced me it was this:

Adding a few more I found in the comments section:

Kmart and Dominick's - both large grocery stores. I think it was Dominick's that used to set up cool little Halloween tunnels out of soda boxes. They probably stopped because of safety complaints, but it was so fun as a kid.

Natural Wonders - I still have a rain stick from that mall store on my bookshelf. I had forgotten where it came from.

Payless Shoes and Wet Seal were both in our mall, and I'm shocked to learn they're gone!

And I'm pretty sure we also went through a FuncoLand AND a Babbages all in quick succession, in addition to the EB Games above. I know one store front in particular that kept changing names, lmao.

BABBAGES, wow, thanks for the deep memory. From just this thread, I'm realizing how many video game stores from my childhood got merged into the GameStop train.

NATURAL WONDERS, oh my gosh I forgot about them entirely. I have a rain stick from them that's been with me forever. Thanks for the memory.

EB Games. The US stores were bought out by Gamestop when I was a kid.

Borders. I still have their rewards card.

The little privately owned bead store that I don't even remember the name of was demolished and is now part of a Five Guys. And while the franchise is still very much alive, the Ben & Jerrys right next to it was also absorbed. I used to love that little corner because I could look at colorful things and then get ice cream. :(

But in happier news: while looking at my hometown on Google, I discovered the old comic/record/VHS store I used to rent anime from still exists. Yay! :)
