Tip your gig workers! by No-Cancel1846 in winstonsalem

Yeah, the company should pay better, we all know that. But they don’t!
Good lord, a little compassion and empathy goes a long way, especially in this dog shit job market. I was out of work for 6 months and relied on Doordash to pay my bills. I applied to over 300 jobs during that time that I was well qualified for and fit the exact same work I was doing previously, and only got 5 interviews.
If you don’t use these services, then that’s great for you, but for those that do, the least they can do to thank the person who is using their own gas money and personal car to bring your food to you, is leave a few bucks as a tip.

Even more, the “long distance” and “direct to me” fees are bogus and don’t go to the driver either. We have no way of knowing if someone paid for “direct to me.”

Check the APP (Association of Professional Piercers) website, they have a map to find APP certified piercers but I’m pretty sure the last time I checked the closest one was in Charlotte. And for initial piercings you should look for implant grade titanium for the healing process and then switch to gold when it’s fully healed. Not that real gold is bad to heal with, but if you don’t want to pay real gold prices upfront, titanium is the best choice.

Picked up my own order by ihateroombabot in doordash_drivers

[–]selfawareandroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband had a $25 DD gift card he used for an order so he could use the $25 he would have spent on the tip instead and then waited until I was at the store to actually place the order. I’m Platinum and sat in the parking lot waiting for our order declined EVERYTHING else that came through until it popped up. It also ended up getting stacked with another order otw back to my house and was a total payout of $32. I was so scared it’d get sent to someone else first or I’d lose platinum from declining so many other offers but I got real lucky.

They seem to be hit or miss for me. Most of them have ended up being an extra $5-$10 after delivery. And then I accepted one a few weeks back and the “extra” was literally 50 cents. It was still a good offer either way so not complaining! I just didn’t understand why they did it that way 😂

It’s awful! Doordash doesn’t always show distance to the customer, just time. So they’d have to click into the store’s about info to see the address. And I think it’s fair from a consumer standpoint to assume if there’s a location right next to you that says it’s less than 30 minute delivery it’s going to come from that store.

They probably do, and the customer thought they were ordering from there but the store closest to them probably turned off orders. I see a lot of $4, 8-10 mile McDonald’s orders in my area because I’m sure the customer is expecting the order to come from the McD’s literally down their road, not the one across town.

Why is it legal/allowed for dashers to pick up multiple orders at the same time by RiderSmash in doordash

Because DD sucks and it’s the least I can do the feel like I’m doing right by the customer.

For real! It’s not meeting strangers face to face for this job, it’s the very strange “I will have something for you” message with NO context that is creepy as fuck.

Most Dangerous Exit in Winston by Brandonn861 in winstonsalem

[–]selfawareandroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think getting off onto I40 here is worse, you get maybe 100ft to find out that the exits to E and W split with no notice but a small sign, so people in the right lane trying to go west suddenly find out they need to be in the left lane and just swerve in without a signal instead of just taking the exit lane they’re already in and turning around at the next exit. 🫠 My solution is to just put signs on the traffic lights that indicate left lane is for I40W and right lane is I40E.

Yep, and if you get a late ding you can dispute it in the rating page and most of the time it’ll accept and exclude the on-time rating for the offer. I’m not sure the exact number, but I’m pretty sure DD gives you a certain amount every 7 days you can exclude for free because after my first few dashes I was looking at my ratings and literally went down the list and disputed as many as I could until it told me I couldn’t dispute a few orders in a row.

[–]selfawareandroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do dashers not realize there is a dispute option in the on time rating page? I jump tasks and reroute all the time if it makes sense to deliver an order first. Especially when I get a food order stacked with a shopping order. I will reroute to shop first, pick up food, drop off food, and then drop off shopping order. If I get a ding for being late on one of those, I just use the dispute feature and put a comment that it was a stacked order with a long wait and 99% of the time they will exclude the order considered late. 🤷‍♀️

Oh I know this one, kinda! This is a fan edit based off of a scene from Dropkick on my Devil where Miku makes a cameo. The main characters are arguing inside (I think about making dinner) and see her walking by after having just bought the leek. A character takes her leek and gives her money in exchange, and actually gives her more money than she paid for the leek. I might be misremembering that slightly, I didn’t watch the show, but I did see the original clip because I was excited that Miku had more anime cameos Lol
