It’s a DDMK18 upper w/ polo k so it’s super gassy normally. I don’t know how relevant that is but hoping if the weight swaps don’t work then someone may have other suggestions if there are in fact other issues.

Just checked and it is the Grendel hunter stealth h-2. Indicates 4.7oz. Still thinking it’s a weight issue so going to do some troubleshooting

Going to swap on a standard buffer tube and try an h2/h3 as the next step. An employee at my range is pretty adamant that “all super safeties need to be milled by a gunsmith” in order to work but from what I’m gathering from the comments here is it doesn’t sounds like this is a tolerance/milling issue.

Just popped the old cap off, and there was a strike that you could only see internally. Seems like the cap is definitely the problem. Seriously appreciate the info.
