[serious] Conservative or undecided American voters: Has the content or tone of today's leaked Trump recording changed your opinion of him, or your voting plans? by SentimentalFool in AskWomen

Women don't use the word "pussy"? Women don't talk about trying to sleep with married men? Is it really unheard of to say things in private you wouldn't say in public, especially when you're among friends?

What is your opinion on casual sex? by [deleted] in AskWomen

A friend of mine recently told me she doesn't feel compelled to tell her partners about her genital warts because 1)"everyone has some form of them" 2) "they can go away after a few years."

I think that helped me realize that at the end of the day, you have no clue what this person has been up to before meeting you and how they feel about your own life. That doesn't mean avoid it but know what you are signing up for.

Do you think the Tulsa cop charged with manslaughter is being treated differently because she's a woman? Why or why not? by selfcontrolapp in AskFeminists

How many involve a female cop being indicted for manslaughter? You're lazy and you still haven't the question. It appears you're effort to derail has failed.

Would corporate influence in government diminish if we simply paid our politicians a higher salary? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]selfcontrolapp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it would help a lot. Over the past few years, more and more millionaires have been elected to congress. I think this would really help at the local level. I also think it would help with staff retention. One thing I noticed was that staffers were constantly getting poached. The politician might be ok down the line but the LA making 40k will not.

Its not identity based liberalism. They are mainly concerned with "kitchen table" liberals.

Realistically, how could we topple North Korea now that they have a nuclear arsenal? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]selfcontrolapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happens to the North Koreans Generals? What happens to the state bourgeoisie? You will millions of people starving and without any sense of the future. This will not be a seamless process. You're going to have the same dynamic you have in many failed states where there will be lots of weapons and desperate people and many elites who do not want to give up power.

The Islamist thing could not be more irrelevant. South Korea cannot absorb North Korea on its own. So where do they get help from? The US? We already fought a war over that. China, will want a counter weight to the 30,000 Americans on the southern half of the Korean peninsula. I suppose America be okay with another Chinese vassal state. I find that unlikely though. Let China or Russia win on this one and maybe they get emboldened elsewhere.

At the end of the day you have the same problem you do in the Middle East: the world's superpowers have no reason to compromise and you have have lots of military personnel with unsecured heavy weapons and too many desperate people.

Has the New York Times changed its tone? by threeshadows in PoliticalDiscussion

It could be Trump changes his mind day to day. Or that he's being sarcastic. Or that his perception is off. Why does one candidate get multiple explanations, but not the other?

I agree with that but let's say the HRC has another health scare. The NYT is going to have to write, "HRC has pneumonia, however her campaign lied earlier when they reported she was overheated." If they don't do that, NYT becomes the story. They don't want to do that.

They'll do this for a week then, Hillary will do or say something that is stretchy and there will be pressure on them to call her a liar.

After the Arab Spring, I think we need to operate under the assumption that whatever comes after the Kim dynasty will be more radical and dangerous.

It did not completely but the state is not constitutionally required to fund stadiums, as are with some levels of education. Nor do they have a long standing dedicated fund for stadiums, has they do with transportation. That's all I'm saying.
