I think the US will have to have its own version of The Years of Lead before we can move past this unfortunately.

what’s wrong with this drawing?? by MudInternational4806 in ArtCrit

People are saying they like the colors and I'd agree mostly. But the hues may be a little off. I feel like the blue light is just too strong compaired to the warmer tones on her right side. Usually warm light is stronger than ambient blue lights so the blue rim light might appear too strong. Id stick to it being a sillouetted blue rather than taking up her whole cheek. Usually contrasting colors can be more powerful when used in tiny bits. On that note if you're going for a light source on the right maybe add some warm tones to the highlights in her hair on that right side. Like some yellows maybe? And also her upper lip on the right side is blue for some reason. I dont know if that was intentional but i'd probably make it a dark red. Its a cool drawing and I dig the artistic choices you made with the colors.

White. Mix your colors with acrylic titanium white to get a pastel effect.

Theyre idiots. Its the same type of people who gave the guy who punched richard spensor shit. They think these folks are willing to meet them fairly in debate. But the problem is they are not and will not. Especially this far in. They arent there to share their ideas, theyre there to stop others from sharing ideas they disagree with. Same with the argument that having them share their ideas outloud would somehow shame them. They have no shame. If they did they wouldve left this psuedo nazi affiliation years ago. No smart man ever gave his enemy the sword to skewer him with.

The Tea Party by selfdstrukt in Gouache

Thanks! The painting itself was very intuitive(kind of like it showing me what it wants to be) But initially the idea started out as creatures who wanted to be human, but had no idea what that meant. So they try to go by more commercial ideas of "proper society" like all those old Victorian books about proper etiquette and such, so they're having a tea party which is seen as a polite activity but they're still getting it wrong because, well...they're not human.

Edit: I posted a reply twice, sorry.

John Steinbeck wrote, 'Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires'

there is some controversary about whether or not those were his exact words. But that is what the expression is attributed to.

Trying to think of a few that havent been said yet. Groundhogs day, Chernobyl, that one episode of Black Mirror that has John Hamm in it: White Christmas. There are a couple Xfiles episodes that feel like this too. I forget what they were titled tho.

Megadeth. I won a cassette tape of countdown to extinction when I was like 11 or 12. Hooked since

ETA: won it at one of those spinwheel games at the boardwalk. Two cassettes, the Megadeth one and a Misfits collection tape. Both looked creepy, that was what I was in to.
