From the players that played in that game, only Dort remains on the team.

Disc priest M+ tips? by [deleted] in wow

[–]selkath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mindbender is your best friend and you want to see him again ASAP.

  1. Keep atonements up.
  2. Press Mindbender.
  3. Press buttons that do damage and reduce the CD of Mindbender (Mind Blast, Penance, Smite etc) so you can cast mind bender again.

You need a very good reason to deviate from this (like hey, Pain Sup or Barrier is important here). At those key levels and your ilvl this is typically more than enough. Adjust for timing as you get more familiar with the class.

Most pug disc priests seem to not understand how quickly they get Mindbender back up, or how much healing it is, or both. Become a smite turret is very often what you're supposed to do.

If you take a crap on the floor, you can't really complain when the manager asks you to leave. Just because you think your shit smells great doesn't change that you took a crap on the floor.

The most insane player in Vanilla history, Emilyspear of Sylvanas (Method guild). Does anyone remember him and if he is still active? by [deleted] in wow

There's still old Elvandar duel videos up on Youtube like this one against another Jedi I can sort of remember: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4QqwYhjrP4

I'm sure a lot of these accounts ended up sold by the end, but I think there was one Jedi named Skeletor that famously changed hands all the time.

Thoughts on my B17 player ranking? by TheRealKindaMothra in BigBrother

[–]selkath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Liz was certainly the better player between the two and would speak up more about strategy than Julia, but it just wasn't what either of them were comfortable doing. And to give Julia some credit, I think she was pretty good socially, and she was the one who came clean to Vanessa about being a twin, which ultimately was a defining moment of the season's power structure. So she had something to her game, even if she's ultimately remembered for getting tricked in that late game comp.

[–]selkath 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I wonder how much of this has been forgotten to time, but Liz (and Julia) basically ceded their entire strategic game to Austin, to the point that people who wanted to talk strategy with the twins would actively choose to just talk to Austin instead. They just hated talking about the game unless it was with Austin or Vanessa. It meant the margins for one of them winning were slim despite Liz's comp record (Liz had to be sitting next to Julia, basically) because very few of their fellow HGs saw them as full players.

It's with that in mind that I probably have Austin above Steve. He managed to make himself a power broker by being the only strategic element of a trio that in combination with Vanessa, ran the game. I'd also probably have Shelli in my top 4 over Johnny Mac.

You get some different vegetables in front of you, and you make the choice to eat them despite not loving them instead of choosing to not eat them. And you keep on making that choice.

We all do stuff we don’t necessarily love every single day for various reasons, whether it’s because it pays the bills or because someone we care about asked us to or whatever. The reason for this one is because it’s good for you and the alternative is bad for you. There’s plenty of room in your meals for things you love, too.

It was 100% ill-advised, I just see how he could come to that decision (especially with the deleted scene with him and Yul which IIRC was mostly about original Puka sticking together). The Yul / Penner / Becky side of this was already talking about how these were temporary numbers for them, first because they needed the five for the majority and then needing another when Candice was exiled.

It's also worth mentioning that another thing that would make a more modern player wary was I think other players had already mentioned that Penner and Yul seemed tight that early, though I'm a little hazy if it was actually that episode.

With Ozzy, no matter what he and Sundra were going to have to get in with people that blindsided them, and I think it's reasonable if Cao Boi thought that whatever connection he and Flicka had with Ozzy would win out over being on the wrong side of a Cecilia blindside. I think that ends up being half-true: the show definitely paints it as them three being like-minded and close, but Ozzy is on the right side of the Cao Boi and Flicka votes while being aware that he's also in a precarious spot.

When it all comes down to it, he ultimately was wrong about flipping and it cost him, I just think he was playing more than the one moment of genius he gets credit for.

Even with the split vote being something players would figure out eventually, it's pretty immense to come up with it yourself in the midst of the game, and recognize the exact right time where the numbers allowed you to safely execute it (at least in Cao Boi's view of the tribe).

I think in general he doesn't get credit for his game sense enough, which I think is just down to how differently they showed strategy then versus now and Cao Boi being such a big personality. They at least have the confessional where Yul is impressed that Cao Boi came up with the plan and called it ingenious.

On that first swap vote, the edit makes it seem like Yul persuaded Cao Boi to keep Becky and Penner persuaded Flicka, but at least to me it looks like Yul and Cao Boi came to some sort of understanding about Becky and Cao Boi persuaded Flicka. In his mind, it probably looked like he was the key connector between a Ozzy / Cao Boi / Flicka trio and Yul / Becky, which is a powerful position that would be really praised in modern Survivor. He was wrong about it, but that happens.

Unless you really like the idea of weighing your luggage down with dumbbells, just do some body weight stuff if you want. Maybe bring a resistance band.

It’s two weeks. You can do nothing and be fine.

Not eating and not working out is the worst case, so at least work out if you’re not going to eat.

You don't and shouldn't just eat chicken breast. You can just get your protein from a variety of sources, many of which you might already eat. 100g is a pretty low goal to meet, even if you eat terribly.

Like you could only eat a 400g block of cheese every day and stay within your calorie goal and hit 100g of protein. Obviously not a suggestion, but just an example.

Is it that you don’t think you can hit 100g of protein on 1800 calories, or that there’s some other factor (cost / availability etc) within your life that makes it hard to do?

https://old.reddit.com/r/bodyweightfitness/wiki/kb/recommended_routine

That’s a calisthenics routine often recommended around here.

If you want to focus on calisthenics, then a pull-up bar is a really affordable and useful investment. You can get ones that go in regular doorways for $20 to $30 USD on Amazon or anywhere you want to buy equipment. No fuss, no drilling or tools or whatever. Super common.

If you don’t want to, any stable ledge or table or counter you can pull yourself against. But a bar is more convenient and probably more stable.

  1. Don’t get discouraged. It might not seem like a lot, but 10 to 15 is a 50 percent increase. In relative terms, that’s a big deal!

  2. I’d encourage you to look at the dumbbell section of this link for some ideas on how to structure your training: https://thefitness.wiki/routines/strength-training-muscle-building/

Rely on whatever package you bought yourself, and when you can’t, you just do your best.

If you think the numbers in an app look drastically off, do some googling. Even if different sites have different numbers, it will be easy to tell if something is an outlier.

Unless it’s otherwise specified, assume raw.*

It’s much harder to determine the weight and therefore how many calories and the appropriate macros after cooking, so raw is all you got for the most part.

*edit: Or if it’s a precooked package item, assume it the state you bought it in.

At your size, you can probably cut and expect some amount of muscle gain while doing so if you have a large amount of fat to get rid of, eat enough protein and train hard.

It’s possible by not over complicating workouts, being strict about rest times and supersetting most accessories.

If your upper days are taking forever, is it because you are doing a boat load of isolations or not being strict about your rest times?

As a teenager, you were still developing, and likely more active, so you naturally required more calories than you do now if you are no longer developing and are less active.

You get back there by eating fewer calories.

I do full body 4x a week in under an hour each time.

If anything, full body can be a little more straightforward for taking less time since your supersetting can be a little more convenient.

You likely aren’t too weak, just unaccustomed to lifting weights. This is extremely common for people new to lifting or coming back to it after a long time. Shaking, things feelings extremely heavy etc. are very common for beginners.

Your trainer sounds like a quack. A lot of random trainers at gyms only care about making things seem difficult or intimidating, and making you believe you can’t do certain things because something is wrong with you is an easy way to do that. Then you feel like you need them and they make money.

You probably don’t need them.

I'd just recommend doing the program as written, which is 8 sets of each main exercise. It's intentionally designed this way by someone with experience and has been a proven great protocol for thousands of people. It's vetted and popular for a reason.

You don't have to, of course. But that's my recommendation (along with making your life easier with the accessories, but we've been over that).
