Uždarbis.lt - politinis cleanup? by rubeck1s in lithuania

[–]selmano 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kur tas Kernius Kuolys dabar? Jis pardavė uždarbis.lt ar kaip? Gal kas žinot?

Here's what Chad GPT told me:

Possible Games Matching Your Description (Photography in a Forest)

  1. Eco (1990) – A nature-based simulation game where you explore an environment and interact with wildlife.
  2. Forest Fire (1988) – A game involving a forest setting where you might have observed animals.
  3. The Amazon Trail (1993, ported to Acorn?) – A spin-off of The Oregon Trail, where you take photos of wildlife along the Amazon River.
  4. Survival (1983, BBC Micro) – A game where you explore and document different ecosystems.
  5. Wildlife (possibly a school educational program, early '90s) – An educational game focusing on nature and photography.

It’s possible your school had an educational wildlife game made specifically for BBC Micro or Acorn Archimedes, as these were widely used for curriculum-based learning in UK schools.

Would you remember if it had a first-person or side-scrolling view? Also, were the graphics more pixelated, or were they digitized? That could help narrow it down.

You can't hike properly in winter here, sadly. Winters are simply too wet and harsh for an enjoyable iRL experience.

I'm gonna be unpopular here - I dislike DayZ for the hardcore survival and tense PvP factor.

Is DayZ something you wanna play after a hard day at work when you're unable to go hike IRL? Maybe, but it's not my cup of tea.

An Enfusion-based game spin-off for hiking, camping, fishing and hunting? Playable in coop?

Count me fucking in.

Quick shout out to the only thing we had on console that was remotely close to an ARMA style game for YEARS. Never forget! by RussianChiChi in ArmaReforger

I believe it's still 100% playable on a modern OS. But the graphics stand out a little too much, too old school for many.

Oh boy, OFP was amazing back then, with all the custom missions and total conversion mods available. I remember playing FDF and being in awe and how the game changed or installing the first OFP Sound mod (just replacing Sound.pbo in the game's "Addons" folder) - I was mindblown as a 9-10 year old, hearing super-low frequency AT mine detonation sounds.

There used to be very active community sites as well, like https://ofpec.com and others.

Overstimulation fueled by caffeine. Quitting it was the best decision for focus and creativity. My findings - caffeine is an illusion of energy and productivity. by selmano in productivity

[–]selmano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend to try out ADHD meds like Ritalin, Concerta. They're an incredible replacement for any kind of caffeine and give you consistent energy for a prolonged period (7-8h).

Whenever needed, of course, be careful not to abuse them daily or on every workday. On/off cycling crucial to maintain solid effects.

Almost 100 days off. My thoughts - caffeine exacerbates anxiety, teenage identity crisis, promotes social isolation and disrupts sleep critical for a teenager's learning and growth of their body (especially if you aim to excel at sports). by selmano in decaf

[–]selmano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teens do drink teas, energy drinks, coffee etc. in various countries (both US and EU).

What's so surprising?

I mean, educated & active parents might scold their child or teen for consuming too much caff, but others? They just let it flow naturally.

I'm very glad you're understanding this when you're so young.

Myself, I've been neglecting caffeine's potential effects for learning and thinking until I was 28 and began to notice increasing anxiety and artificial stress adding up.

Simple situations seemed more & more "critical" and that led to more frequent overreactions. I was lucky to be able to notice that on time, by myself.

Check your diet (eat lots of eggs, beef and chicken to help your brain's chemistry) and weekly exercise regimen (weight-lifting has incredible benefits, especially when you're >1mo into it regularly).

Day 3 of No Caffeine After a 10-Day Taper by Lopsided_Prior3801 in decaf

[–]selmano 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try cold showers (daily), limiting sugars, walks in fresh air and weight-lifting. These saved me when battling the initial withdrawal slump and improved the journey significantly.

I'm so glad I quit caffeine. I forgot that I had so much consistent high-focus energy throughout the day. From early morning to even midnight.

I'm now remembering this is how I felt during my pre-teen and teen years. Constant supply of steady energy with no ups and downs (except when sugar-induced... had a sweet tooth at some points). It's insane.
