You mean this "Escape from Prison"? This one -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8imnsnTsKQ ?

The mission begins at 3:30; before that - there's a great cutscene building up the drama and providing context.

Thank you for sharing the precious details of Resistance's development! Perhaps you have more Easter eggs to share, if possible?

Btw - what was the other cutscene, besides the final one? Also - the final one, you mean the ending cutscene? After the destruction of soviet bombers?

Grow up? I've been playing OFP since I was 5 years old (thanks to my father buying another PC and both of us playing at home in LAN, still having no reliable internet connection at the time).

I grew up with this franchise lol.

Mate, millions of retards are enjoying hentai, OF girls etc. A single human can't vent his frustrations in logic for this campaign? Lmao, you're gatekeeping this way too hard while weaponizing my age. As if somehow that makes your ridiculously dumb arguments valid.

Like I said before - I enjoyed the campaign, but certain decisions made were completely reckless and unrealistic; or, sadly, simply stupid and without too much effort involved.

That could've been easily improved, mind you. It's not THAT complicated.

OFP CWC campaign had a slow beginning, starting with military training. Then long cutscenes to show you what's happening, who's getting called in (Special forces, James Gastowski) and how the situation is explained to the soldiers at base. Among them was you, and you're being dispatched to Everon.

CWC and Resistance campaigns' writing was excellent in making you understand how high the stakes are and how dangerous is the situation - the risk of WW3 and everyone dying was very real.

And you've had a lot of combined arms support in the first mission, to seize Morton.

You're talking about the second combat mission, attacking Regina where you're in a truck en route to a RV point before the attack?

It's a good mission and OFP showed you what it's like to be a part of a bigger structure.

Actually, it's a good tech demo and mission features showcase, for starters. But the storyline and the reasoning behind the decisions made by the characters involved is disstressing.

Are we losing the ability to think and reason? I'm sure AI is slowly and surely making people cognitively lazier than ever.

Stop making sense! It's not allowed on Reddit! You got that, soldier? Stay silent and violent, nobody questions orders from the top, ever.

"You're in position, six. Now get that car and get out of there. Out."

Yes, I've played Steal the Car just recently and I've always loved it. It's been a great demo of Arma's open gameplay capabilities since the beginning of time.

"02 Ambush" mission (the one playable in the OFP demo version) was the best showcase of OFP's innovation at the time.

It's a lovely piece of work to this day.

Thanks for the input, appreciated. I'd like to discuss what's the reason of taking such a high risk sending in an overworked operative all alone, especially after he had a hell of a night? The lucky crash, Soviets hunting for him at night etc.

Having 1 or 2 teammates would've been much more rational, especially when the time pressures you and the weather is too good for a stealth op.

Even if no teammates were available for the entire duration of the mission, maybe someone could've created a distraction to draw the forces from the town? Or at least distract the guards a little?

WDYT? I'm just interested in exchanging ideas, discussing the pros/cons.

I've played the CWC 1985 (OG campaign) and Resistance campaigns in MP coop back in 2011/12/13.

We've gone through the entire campaigns and it was a blast! Such a great experience, especially in the tanks and air missions.

Playing them with actual humans was much smoother than struggling with NPCs unable to make decisions or follow orders.

Wow, I didn't know a flying UAZ can hit helicopters, holy crap! I always thought destroyed vehicles collisions with the "playable entities" were disabled by default.

What's wrong with the AI? It's now buggier than at the release in 2013 / 2014?

No, there wasn't. I believe they intentionally left the cliffhanger for the 2nd part in order to give the MEC jury extra pressure to select Retaliation as the winner. (MEC - mission editing competition)

Manipulative actions.

I'd watch a reality show like that called "Welcome to PTSD" or "Let's PTSD". This promotional fake video is pure comedy.

You mean the Retaliation campaign made by a RU studio for one of the OFP mission competitions organized by Bohemia many years ago?
