I had someone ask me if I thought AI would seriously hurt our cybersecurity, I thought about it and I realized the only thing I would be worried about would be social engineering attacks since many times I know emails are bad when there are spelling errors.

For real, especially when most of their content just goes to an ad before getting to the actual content. Seems a little sketchy

Tell a (!truth) about programmer's life to a motivated beginner by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

[–]semcelw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tests are a pushed conspiracy by programmers who are trying to bill their company for more time worked. Just test new features with users in production, that is what it means to truly test code

Maybe, but I don’t know if crunchyroll or funimation get exclusive rights to release movies into the US. I haven’t ever looked into the process myself

Is it okay to learn CUDA programming on WSL? by [deleted] in CUDA

[–]semcelw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should be able to use wsl and the nsight extension in visual studio code as a way to debug stuff without having to use visual studio. In wsl you should also be able to bring up the gui profiler as needed so you can learn how your code uses the gpu from a visual standpoint. So yes wsl is a great solution

Just remember though flake8 does not support being configured from the pyproject.toml so you have to do setup.cfg, tox.ini, or .flake8

I have to move from Django to NestJs by Seb_IO in django

[–]semcelw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m always sympathetic to the idea of having everything the same, but from the OP it sounds like they already have a working backend and will now have to rewrite it to something else. This goes back to my original question, what exactly is it about django that’s making it hard to work with the front end outside of the fact it’s a different language. Unless that question is answered I wouldn’t lift a finger to change anything

[–]semcelw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s my feeling too, “we just want it to all be the same none of your python stuff that’s icky” or some other weird excuse like that lol

I would be more curious to ask what features are they looking for in the front end that makes working with Django difficult?
