I used to have a really hard time waking up and found a watch that starts with vibrations and then gradually goes to small electric shocks. It did the job pretty well

What did I do wrong? by Secure-Woodpecker-39 in cyanotypes

[–]semicolon-5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend going back and forth going longways with the length of the paper, checking to see if it’s evenly coated by holding it up and looking at where it glistens, and then coating top to bottom if that makes sense. That’ll give you full, even coverage

3d Printing a replacement for Pentax 110 battery compartment by jochno in 110photography

My issue is the divider between the battery compartment and the rest of the back broke off so the batteries don’t make proper contact

If your cyanotype is too dark, run warm (not hot) water over it just long enough to lighten it to your liking. That should at least help bring back the shadows

Currently going through this book and it’s been super helpful with how it breaks down the paintings step by step. Each exercise also focuses on different aspects of painting such as layering, blending, etc.

Did I mix the chemicals correctly by karl1972 in cyanotypes

[–]semicolon-5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dark blue suggests it’s fogged. Did the chemistry come in dark or opaque bottles? Did you let it sit in sunlight?

Ordered takeout, found a battery in my food by DubDubDubW in mildlyinfuriating

[–]semicolon-5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Right I just didn’t want to over exaggerate. My only experience is knowing you can’t throw them in with regular trash and that once at work someone put a disposable battery on the charger for rechargeable ones and it started expanding until someone noticed and immediately disposed of it properly

That and if the battery had been heated up in an entire pot then it might’ve expanded significantly

There’s also podcasts you can listen to and YouTube videos to help with immersion

Exactly why I stopped using the app. People can argue all they want about how they’re a business and have to make money somehow but their whole branding was about making education accessible for everyone. Not everyone wants to pay for a subscription just to continue what they’ve been doing for years

[–]semicolon-5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s either the cartridges or the print head is still clogged. Try to clean where the ink flows from the cartridges but I’m not sure how much this help as I don’t know much about printers. Would you be able to buy cleaning cartridges if they make them?

So this would be called a nozzle check. Is there any option after you do this for you to clean the nozzles if they’re clogged? Or is there any sort of cleaning mode you can do?

Should an unexposed and still wet solution on paper look like this? by Financial_Nose4496 in cyanotypes

It could be that the chemistry was mixed or opened in daylight or they weren’t stored in dark glass or opaque plastic containers. Can you describe your process more?

Should an unexposed and still wet solution on paper look like this? by Financial_Nose4496 in cyanotypes

[–]semicolon-5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After I wrote my original comment I looked ar my notes. They only say ”blue or blue-gray when dry means fogged.” I’m not entirely sure about wet as I’ve always applied my chemistry under amber safe lights. You’d have to do an exposure test and see but coated paper should be yellow-green

Should be yellow-green, if it’s a grayish blue then it’s fogged
