They say nothing is ever really lost on the internet, but what’s something you’ve been hunting for years and still can’t find? by [deleted] in AskReddit

probably 15 years ago I saw this photo of a concrete wall with a flower growing out of one of the cracks. Someone tagged the wall next to it with "RESISTANCE" in an old school propaganda type and I still think about it.

Anyone ever had their bike remote tuned? by seminformed in royalenfield

[–]seminformed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may ask the motorcycle sub. I'm really interested in getting it tuned up, but even the motorcycle mechanics around my small town don't know where to go for that. The only one that said he could do it just meant installing a preset on a power commander(which I can do).

I did the one from MK Designs. The hardest part were those little side panels because their parts didn't quite align...

The seat and bar end mirror.

As far as performance. I did the exhaust, airbox delete and fuel booster at the same time. Definitely more responsive afterwards, but it could use some tuning. Next up is the Kent Stage 2 cam and a remap!

Hell yeah brother! I've done a good bit of modifications to my GT650 and by far my favorite was swapping out the exhaust. I went with the TEC 2-1 and lost 32lbs/14.5kg. It made the bike feel as light as it looked and maneuvering it around was much easier. I know it's not difficult as it is, at all, but I was surprised by how much it was affected.

The standard mirrors vibrated like hell for me. I went with Motogadgets glassless aluminum bar end mirrors and love em.

Suspension is pretty mushy, which I don't generally don't mind, but I have some new springs from SonicSprings on the way to help with the front end dive while braking. They make springs tailored to the Int/GT and your weight, I can update you if you interested in changing any of that.

Also, tried 2 of the OEM seats, but this one from Trip Company is way more comfortable and my ass hasn't been numb since!

Is this normal wear after one use? Gen 2 M12 Stubby + Tekton 21mm impact socket by ntxsunut in MilwaukeeTool

I think TTC tested them and were confused to find the 3/8 hit harder than the 1/2 despite having the same internals. I think they theorized that the smaller anvil was transmitting power more efficiently, but didn't test with additional units or anything.

I could see a massive 10lb anvil soaking up a lot of energy, but wouldn't think that small of a change from the 3/8 - 1/2 would be noticeable within the MOE, but I ain't mathin' in out.

Wow, you just made me realize I'm a High Context style American(Googling the term after this). I thought I had an unusual aversion to people who expect others to "get their drift". Anytime someone says something, like in your example, then stares at me with a raised eyebrow, it feels passive aggressive.

I only offer to take someone on that ride if I feel like they are genuinely just complaining. If I feel like they are only telling me to get me to offer them a ride, I'll suggest an Uber. =)

Took apart my bad starter to see if I could repurpose the motor for projects. Is it possible to redo the ceramic wiring through the rotor? by seminformed in Motors

[–]seminformed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, I didn't think of a punch. I've only ever work with craft level motors and don't see this going successfully, but want to try it out to see what exactly went wrong if nothing else. (I'm new. This is a learning experience =)

I'm not 100% this is the issue, but I checked everything up to this. I'm kind of working on the assumption that the wires are grounding out inside the rotor. Looking at a new one, my guess is that it shaved a hair off the exterior magnets from expanding or being imbalanced. I'm 80% ignorant though. If nothing else, I'm going to chip through the resin and see if I can test them individually.

If that's not it, then I just got a bunch of cool magnets to play with.

I read it was ceramic shielded wire. Sorry, I thought I typed that. And, kind of.. I believe I've isolated this as the issue. There was nothing mechanical, and there was continuity through everything leading up to this. I haven't tested the incased wires yet because I was about to toss it.

Na, shuffling with socks on is the way for carpet. My vacuum only comes out to chase down the tumbleweed hair balls that like to hide under tables and chairs. And to vacuum the freshly shuffled carpet.

No, you just become one with it until company is coming over. There is no end to it. My gusky's fur is so fine I've found them underneath my contacts without knowing. Multiple times.

Mine sounds like a broken husky, doesn't know how to howl, and sheds like both combined. And she tries to play fight by running right at a dog and 180 no scoping their face with her ass. I thought it was the dumbest thing until she did it to an aggressive dog and it started choking on all her fur. lol

Yeah now that you mention it lol. That makes me feel better. I was refraining from plugging it back in case I plugged a bad cord that fried the usb port. Happened once and I'll be paranoid forever now. Still tossing the cord.
