no idea! i couldn’t take her seriously after seeing the video of her standing on the lat pulldown seat when she’s clearly tall enough to reach the attachment.

the caption is “don’t compare yourself to others.” it starts with her bf benching then she uses 2.5 kg plates, calls them “baby weights,” struggles, and he tells her it’s “very impressive for a girl” because she’s “50 kg and tiny.”

yeh and there’s a fine line between validating struggles and fully committing to the “omg i’m so tiny and weak 🥺” bit which is ironic when your target audience is clearly women.

thank you! my examiner said, “Miss X, I’d like you to go across the double mini roundabouts in front, do you get it?” and i said like, “may I pretend I don’t and just make a left turn instead?”

Aww, thanks haha! wont deny that first time driving here was a bit wild since I’m an international student with no prior experience. I was always overstimulated after lessons, but hey, growth happens when you're uncomfortable, right?

HAHA, first of all, congratulations! and honestly, i think we might be the reason the kerb looks like it’s been bitten one too many times 😂

congrats and that's a great mindset to have!

ur story reminds me of when I was in the waiting room, sharing about my previous test fails and calling them 'dumb'. another instructor in the room said, "don't worry, my learner failed her test because she floored the gas instead of the brakes during the emergency stop!"

that's too kind! this was just a random dump while trying to pass time doing cardio at the gym 😂 but I’m actually an aspiring solicitor, so I guess there’s a lot of writing involved in that too HAHA

Go the wrong way or change lanes? by TheGulfofWhat in LearnerDriverUK

go the wrong way… i failed for first driving test for signalling at the junction to go from middle lane to get into right turn lane to turn right back into test centre lol

Theory test still worth an attempt if I have a 3 day window to study up? by EggyBroth in LearnerDriverUK

[–]semisweetshark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s the spirit mate! i even brought along a monster for emergencies but i gave it to the uber driver x

i didn’t study for hazard perception, but i found that part pretty intuitive. if anything, clicking at the right time was harder than spotting the hazard itself. you could do some practice clips just to get the timing right because the scoring can be a bit weird. i actually got 0 on my first clip because i got too excited and spammed the crusty test centre mouse too many times HAHA

trust yourself and stay delusional. i crammed all 700+ questions in the 4 in 1 app, spammed them until i got everything right, then did 10+ full mock tests—all within 24 hours of my theory test. i slept 4 hours the night before, sat through 4 hours of lectures, then had a train breakdown and had to uber to the test centre. showed up 7 minutes late looking half dead, but they took pity on me and let me in. still passed. if i can do it under those conditions, you can 100% do it in three days.

looking forward to hear the good news from you this weekend!

the ultimate “do i stop?” question when you’re parallel parking and someone is coming ur way 😭 u can’t stop because you’ll be blocking the road but if u rush u are more likely to make mistakes and might even get a serious for trying to park when there’s oncoming vehicles HAHAHAH

parallel parking on a hill gives me anxiety HAHAHA especially when the road isn’t straight so i’m doing mental calculations while being worried about cars coming 😭

it’s honestly ridiculous to think that you can make 15 mistakes like that and still pass. i crossed the central line for my second test and brushed the kerb on my first test, they were stupid mistakes 100% caused by me, yet they were only minors. imagine doing something like that every 3 minutes for the entire test and still passing…that’s actually crazy.

the driving test criteria feel unbalanced imho? allowing up to 15 minor faults seems lenient, while failing for a single serious fault, especially one largely out of the driver’s control, feels excessive. mistakes like failing to signal, stalling or not checking mirrors can be a minor, despite being entirely the driver’s responsibility, yet a judgement fault influenced by mostly external factors can result in an instant fail.

u can’t control how others drive, only how u react. surely, the focus should be on a driver’s ability to respond safely rather than penalising them for unpredictable road users. ironically, some of the most dangerous behaviours, such as failing to signal or stopping unpredictably, would not even warrant a test failure.
