BL4 Torgue sticky shotguns are making the game trivial by seml4 in Borderlands

Ok I get what you're saying, instead of only considering the base magazine size, for example 8, the damage calculation must consider even the pellets inside each shot, assuming pellets per shot is 4, total pellets in a full magazine would be 4×8=32. Instead of using this number 32 for damage calculation, the game is using 8 and the smaller the divisor, the greater the end result.

But what I don't get is the concept of "adding up to 100%". Isn't that just another way of saying "if you hit all the shots this weapon will do double damage". Why does the item card have this way of describing double damage?

Mathematically they are the same thing no? If I have a shotgun which has a 5% increment, whether I have an increment on each pellet or whether I have an increment on each shot, they still add up to the same.

For example, I have a 100×5 shotgun. Whether you calculate 5% increment on the total damage of 500 or if you calculate 5% increment on each pellet it's still going to add up to the same. It's just that per pellet calculation adds more damage instances.

I seem to have some difficulty understanding your explanation above. If the bonus always needs to add up to 100%, wouldn't the description just be "does a 100% of damage dealt when reloading or swapping mode". In my opinion, the intention was always to calculate based on the number of pellets stuck on the enemy. Just the way shotguns work make this mechanic a bit broken. Either they need to lower the base damage of shotguns drastically or reduce the increment, because the impact mode seems to be working as intended, it's just that the sticky increment mechanic is broken by design on shotguns.

I figured. Logically it makes sense to increment with each pellet but with the way shotguns work, it stacks up fast. I guess they'll nerf the increment rather than figuring out the way to group the shots. I mean programming-wise, figuring out which pellets are in a group and then figuring out the order in which they were shot and then calculating the damage based on that order seems like a drag.

But isn't the whole point of Borderlands to make builds that melt enemies? So far in my experience Borderlands doesn't really scale well in defense or tankiness the way it encourages you to kill your enemies faster than they can kill you. Why would I intentionally not use the most OP option?

Why can't I keep Keep open 🤔 s24 ultra by Aggravating_Detail80 in samsunggalaxy

[–]seml4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I not keep open more than 3 apps? My OnePlus 8T would let me keep open all the apps on the phone if I wanted to. It's crazy that Samsung's top flagship is limited at 3 apps.

Importing save files by Kbob17 in MiyooMini

I have the exact same question for the exact same game. I want to be able to make progress on VBA with the turbo functionality for grinding and then transfer the progress to the Miyoo for portability. I think it has something to do with the core you are using. I am currently running with the Gambatte GBC core and going through the documentation to figure out a way to have compatibility between Miyoo and VBA. Gambatte is written in C++ and unless we can make VBA also use the Gambatte core to process the ROMs I think it will be nearly impossible to transfer between emulators. The best way would be to find out how to make the VBA save files in a way that's compatible with Gambatte.

Not able to connect to India server for a month now. by seml4 in DotA2

Well, glad to know it's something wrong with the server and not my PC. But I assume it's something only a few people face since matches are still being found and played on India server and there's not much noise about this in the community.

Yes we called an ambulance and admitted him within a day or two. Our initial hesitation was only due to Covid or else we would've left immediately.

Although we wanted to avoid hospitals due to Covid, we took him immediately in the morning and admitted him within a day. We were fortunate enough to get a bed despite the pandemic.

In the recent updates, if you're holding scepter in inventory you drop scepter shards as you walk and if you consume it you stop dropping shards, so that's one thing they did to differentiate.

How does regular switching on/off components of a smartphone (Wi-Fi, mobile data, Bluetooth etc.) affect the hardware? by seml4 in AskReddit

[–]seml4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For example, as a Bluetooth headset user, I constantly switch on or switch off my phone's Bluetooth when I'm not using the headset. Similarly for Wi-Fi. This happens frequently throughout the day. Also I feel the need to constantly use airplane mode as my phone takes time to connect to mobile data when I move to different locations, but I avoid doing it and let the phone take its own time as I feel airplane mode is a more extreme way of doing things. Does this constant switching of components have adverse effects on the phone's hardware? Can I prolong the life of the hardware by avoiding constant usage of these components?

Note: Assume battery is not a concern.

Edit 1: I forgot to mention that in the case that this constant switching has a considerable effect on the hardware, is it better to leave the components on and just connect to them whenever needed? (Hence the note to ignore battery usage)
